I just picked this up from my FFL guy. Fast service from Bud's. I haven't fired it yet. Just wanted to let people know that this is an aluminum framed gun. I don't see it anywhere in Bud's description. Just that it's 16 oz, which lead me to believe that it was the SS frame. According to Charter's wed site for this gun, it's 12 oz. That said, it seems well built. Very good fit/finish too for this price range. The grips are different than what is shown. It came with the "dimple" rubber grips. They are cheap feeling to me. I already swapped them out for Rosewood. But again, look at the price range. I'm happy with this purchase.

Needed a small frame backup revolver. Ordered this from Buds - took about a week to arrive at my local FFL. I've put 100 rounds through it so far - standard .38 ball ammo. No failures to fire. Does not appear finicky when it comes to ammo. Will not use P ammo in it. Instead will carry with .38 JHP rounds. It's not real pleasant to shoot due to the small frame, but it gets the job done at a good price point. Trigger is as you would expect for a double action small frame revolver.

It's a good little revolver. Couldn't believe how fast Buds delivered it.

This little Charter Arms revolver is set up for concealed carry. I've only put 1 box of ammo downrange but I was pleasantly surprised with both the trigger and the accuracy it displayed. Bud's delivered again.

Brian, from Charter Arms web site: Can I shoot +P in my .38 revolver?
Charter .38's are among the smallest revolvers in this caliber. Yes they can handle +P but we do not recommend it for the following reasons:
+P ammo requires a four-inch minimum barrel to burn the extra powder. Therefore, in a two-inch barrel the extra powder is burned after the bullet leaves the barrel creating more recoil and making it harder to come back to target.
We recommend a standard velocity load and practice with round nose lead rounds which are the least expensive. When you load for protection, use a jacketed or hollow point in the same grain you practice with.
    Have a great day!

Jeaniece, yes this will shoot hollow points just fine. Hollow points won't effect reliability at all. Revolvers aren't like semi automatics where you have to worry about a certain bullet style not functioning properly. As long as it's 38 special it doesn't matter if it's hollow points, flat nose, fmj or any other type, it will reliably fire them all. Hope this helps.
