Perfect for conceal, I've only shot it less than 500 times but so far so good.

I do not understand the negative reviews or comments about this firearm... Took it out of the box at the range, wiped it down, loaded both magazines 1 round light and shot 100 rounds with ZERO malfunctions. Did quick field strip and light lube fired another 100 rounds with ZERO malfunctions, Stripped and Lubed. Another 100 Rounds and again, ZERO malfunctions. I then loaded the magazines to capacity and had 1 failure to feed in the next 100 rounds. Again, stripped and lubed, 100 rounds and another failure to feed, same magazine. Finished off 500 rounds with another failure to feed, same magazine and did a full breakdown, detailed the firearm and did a very light lubrication. I contacted Remington and discovered that the firearm was shipped with Gen 1 magazines and with no drama, sent me out 2 Gen 2 magazines. After receiving them, I loaded them to capacity along with the original magazine that had no issues and fired another 500 rounds and the firearm functioned flawlessly. Sights were spot on out of the box out to 25 yards, very light recoil and was easy on follow up rounds.
Overall, this is a beyond value for the price, the tolerances of manufacturing requires a break in period without question...

This is a great pistol! I love how balanced it feels. It's not a polymer frame and that little extra contributes to making it just feel natural in your hand. Points good and the sights align with ease. Please, don't believe all the negativity surrounding this little gun. I took a chance on it because I like the overall design and thought it was a good price on Bud's. Listen to me... If a person says " I don't think a modern handgun should have any break in time and should be 100% right out of the box" needs to take another look at what he's says. First off, this one has been 100% for me with no hiccups. 2nd, shooting is what we do, right? So why not go to the range, blast some ammo, have a great time doing it? . Another way I can debunk over 1/2 of what you see negative out there is shoot good ammo through it! It likes good stuff so don't waste your time with "brown bear", or "Tula". Sheesh! It kinda makes me mad to see folks I watch on YT like mac doing this company a disservice after they tried to remarket with the Gen 2.
It's very thin and easily concealable. I like it because it melts into my waistline when carrying concealed. I recommend this gun. I say get it because of mainstream YouTube "personalities" this gun might go away some day and that's a shame. Get one! You'll love it.

I had to send it back to Remington twice to get it to run right.
Now it runs great. Very soft shooting and virtually no muzzle flip.
The sights are not regulated for a 6 o’clock hold. More like a center target hold.
Field stripping takes some getting used to. But is you buy a small battery terminal clamp it really helps.

Love the R51, the layaway plan is awesome.

I had been thinking of purchasing an R51 for some time and finally did so. Everything about it was intriguing and appealing to me. My original plan was to just use it as a fun gun, well that plan has changed. I have absolutely fallen in love with this gun. So far I haven't had a single problem even though it is still in the break in phase. All the things I love about it ... it fits my hand perfect ... the trigger is great, with a short take up and crisp clean break , though the follow through is a little long, and I would prefer the trigger to be 2 lb. lighter... the machining, fit and finish are outstanding... the slightly lighter recoil and lower muzzle rise due to the Pederson designed delayed blow back and low bore axis, allowing you to keep your sights on target easier ... and I think it's an absolutely beautiful hand gun. I got the smoke version, which I think makes it even cooler. So, in the end it will become my personal carry weapon once I put a few hundred more rounds through it. I did forget to mention that it is also accurate. For the money I think its the best gun out there.

Love my brand new R51. The box was pristine, as was the R51 inside. The process of acquiring through Bud's was super easy. They even had my FFL of choice pre-listed for convenience. My firearm was shipped immediately after purchase, and I was able to pick it up at my FFL just 11 days later, following my state's 7-day waiting period. Bud's will be my go to source as I expand my collection in the future.

So I was nervous about this gun, but the price made it hard to pass up. I now have 500 rounds through the gun with no stoppages. I have used lawman (100)147gr p, (100) Blazer Bronze 115gr., (100) Winchester White box 124g, (100) Winchester White box 115gr, and finally 100 Hornaday Critical Defense 115gr ammo. The magazine springs are very tight therefore it likes to be slingshotted or use the slide release to let slide slam home on first round. If you ride the slide with this gun I think you'll have trouble. It shot about 5 inches high for me with factory sight at 15 yards. The front sight cut is novak cut, so getting a shorter .160 front tritium night sight solved that problem. Take down is not that bad once you figure out the quirks of the gun. All in all for less than $325 I now have a nice thin 9mm with 3 magazines (I ordered 1 extra mag from Buds) and night sights. I'm happy with that!
