Steyr 39.723.2KSD M9-A1TB Double 9mm 4.5" 17+1 Black Polymer Grip The Steyr M-A1 striker-fired pistol is a mid-sized, semi-automatic, double-action handgun chambered in a choice of 9x19mm Parabellum with a magazine capacity of 17 rounds. The M-A1 has a barrel length of 4" and functions as an ideal general-purpose firearm for self-defense carry, home defense and sport shooting. The Good. I like the sights I have old eyes an the triangle is easy to see. It was POI was right on out of the box. The grip is much better than a Glock, similar to a Sig 320 Carry X. I have had no failures of any kind. Field strip very easy. The Bad. The trigger is similar to a Glock Gen 4, a little gritty but maybe lighter. Removal of the trigger group is difficult as is the extractor and even the slide rear plate cover. You had better work in a clean close area because springs will get away from you. There are no upgrades to the trigger like a Glock. You can do the 25 cent polish job with the trigger group out. I did that and there was a slight improvement on the trigger. There are no after market accessories except a few holsters. Conclusion. The gun works and feels good in the hand. I would not carry it in dirty conditions but for home defense and target shooting it fine. Steyr made it way to complicated for a service gun. If this is going to be your only gun look at the Sig 320 or the never fails Glock Gen 1-4.

Fantastic firearm! Flawless performance so far. Grip feels like a glove. Those crazy sights that everyone talks about are the best defense sights I have ever used. YMMV. I can snap shoot with these sights far quicker than any others I have tried. The cammed trigger is an inspired design and feels so light and wonderful. I just cannot say enough about this great handgun. I guess the best endorsement I can give is that I just purchased a holster from Craft Holsters to fit a subcompact version, so yes, I will be buying a subcompact model very soon. This pistol comes in a very nice plastic case with cut foam liners. Included are two keys for the silly lock, two magazines, and a padlock, which I suppose is to lock the plastic case. It does not come with a protective sleeve for threaded barrel. This is my third Steyr product. I have a Pro-Hunter rifle (I regret buying it, don't recommend it), I have an AUG M1A3 (nice bullpup, but terrible scope), and this M9A1 (I'm crazy about it).

Bought a Steyr M9A1 threaded barrel and when I got home from the FFL dealer the gun would not chamber a round, when the slide would come forward the bullet would jam and not chamber. Got it on and Wed and Thurs. it was on its way to Steyr. I ask Steyr what was wrong with it and they said they had to tweak it here and there, not the answer I was looking for but obviously they were saving face. I have never bought a gun that wouldn't chamber a bullet. I got the gun back and is smooth as can be but haven't shot it yet. In my mind there's no reason why it shouldn't operate flawlessly but will see. This is not fault of Buds in anyway. I bought this gun to do a Steyr vs Glock 19 comparison, if Steyr would have told what was really wrong instead of like a child that didn't need to know I would have more respect for them. I guess I chalk it up to I got one that slip through the QC when it shouldn't have. Now let's hope it shoots.

This makes my 5th Steyr pistol purchase. I own the S9-A1, the C9-A1, the M9-A1, the M357-A1 and the L40-A1. As you can see I am a Steyr fan. The M9-A1 shoots just like my other Steyrs. Perfectly with no issues to complain about Took it to the range and shot my first 50 rounds with no complaints. Fast shipping from Buds as usual.
