Please Note: We have received these rifles from several different suppliers over the years.  They were all sealed with cosmoline to prevent rust and corrosion, so expect to spend some time removing this oily substance.  The lot we are currently shipping from includes ONLY the rifle, sling, bayonet, and mag pouch as pictured above.

The Russians modernized their model 1891 rifle into what would become one of the most successful military arms the world has ever known! Its simple and robust design, accuracy and awesome reliability served the Soviets well as their main battle rifle of WWII. Under appreciated until recently, the Mosin Nagant is one of the hottest collectibles on the market today!

First purchase with Buds and I was instantly hooked. I received a gorgeous laminated stock Mosin 91/30 with matching numbers.
I write this review more than two years after I first purchased and shot around 1000 rounds through it since. Have not altered the rifle other than refurbishing the stock.
Too bad the surplus market for both guns and ammo has dried up.

Beautiful rifle especially once all the packing grease is cleaned off. I bought steel cased rounds and after about 5 or so rounds (shot it on 3 different occasions), the action becomes difficult to close to the point of almost not wanting to close at all. Likely due to the steel cases but I haven't tried with brass yet to be 100% sure. Still I'm satisfied with what I purchased.

Nice Mosin! Fast shipping, and rifle in great condition (once I got cosmoline cleaned off!). Good shooter, condition as advertised. Thanks Buds.

This was my first on-line gun purchase and I couldn't be happier. When the Mosin arrived I found an extra ammo pouch...bonus! After I got the cosmoline cleaned up I took it to the range. Shoots straight but high so all I have to do is aim a little lower. Its great to have a piece of history and I will be purchasing another gun from Bud Guns again soon.

I would first like to say I have purchased several firearms from Bud's and have never been disappointed, until now. I purchase this rifle expecting it to have some cosmoline on it not unlike my AK had, but this was unbelievable! It was so thick that when I cocked it and pulled the trigger - it released about three seconds later. But that is not the main reason for me to write. This gun is no where near excellent condition. No numbers match anywhere and the barrel is scratched as well as the stock. I know it wasn't horribly expensive and I didn't expect perfect but certainly better than I got. Call me disappointed.

This gun was in amazing shape. Very little cosmoline and the bore looked brand new. Parts were not matching but I didn't expect them to be . Only problem just did have was the firing pin was adjusted all the way out and needed to be set to height. No problem with the enclosed tool kit only took a few minutes. Thanks Buds

Buds Service was excellent, not a problem there. The Mosin Nagant M91/30 I received was in good Condition, not superb but good. I'm satisfied.

Best condition. Nothing else to say.

I'm not really complaining all that much because I know it is hard to tell how good the bores are on these when they come packed in cosmoline. Got mine cleaned up and the bore is in terrible shape. Do not let the excellent condition lead you to think the bore will be excellent as well. Other than that Buds is a great company to order from. Just need to leave the excellent out of the condition part.

Don't know what to think!
Bore: Not counterbored & in pretty good shape.
Stock: Perfect!
Metal: When refinished bare metal was covered with black paint which wiped off with CLP rag revealing bare metal.

The rifle had the soviet crest & year scrubbed off along with some of the original serial number.
I don't know what year my riffle was made! Tang date either scrubbed or stamped poorly.
The serial numbers matched but they could not of been original due to the Tula bolt with matching serial number on a Izzy?
The barrel threads were rusted real bad with rust & corrosion seeping out between the barrel & receiver.
Receiver screw corroded real bad from years of rust from barrel threads.
Riffle has mismatched "early" & "late" parts mixed from Izzy & Tula.
I would be happy if it was not rusted & corroded real bad where the barrel threads into the receiver, Hopefully the years of corrosion has not weakened the metal.
I hope I can find somebody to try it out for the first time because I don't want to blow my face off!
