Typical Smith quality product. I've put thousands of rounds through it with no malfunctions. I use this as an off duty and back up since my duty weapon is a S&W full size MP and it takes the same mags. As an offduty I use a full size 17round mag with an xgrip. My hands are average size and with the standard mag my pinky and 1/3 of my ring finger hang off the bottom which is why I use the xgrip and large mag, but it is a compact so it's intended to be short and concealable.

Very seamless buying experience. No issues whatsoever while using Buds layaway option . I will certainly buy from Bud's again in the future.

I'm very happy with the M&P9c. I wanted something smaller than a full size M&P but didn't need something the size (and capacity) of the Shield. The first time I used the 9c was in a handgun class at my local indoor range. Many were surprised I brought a brand new weapon to the training. Throughout the session, and nearly 300 rounds later, the gun was reliable and accurate out to the 75' range limit. I found it to be comfortable, well built, and problem free out of the box. Nice job S&W!

I bought this gun after falling in love with the Shield in .45 which motivated me to add to my now steadily growing M&P collection. Predictably, this gun did not disappoint. Although it is a compact, low recoil and well thought out ergonomics make this pistol a breeze to shoot. However, I have smaller than average hands and the mags with pinky extensions barely give me enough room to get a full grip. If you have average or large hands and prefer to have all your fingers on the pistol, this may bother you. Mine came with three mags (all 12 rounders), two of which had the extensions. So I called S&W to see if I could purchase the extended base plate for the third mag and they offered to send one for free! Awesome customer service. Also, the 15 and 17 round M&P mags will work with this pistol. If you pick up a couple of those and some after market sleeves (mine are made by X-Grip) you can have a compact gun with full size capacity and grip. I personally wouldn't try to conceal it in that configuration, but a spare 17 round mag on my belt with the 12+1 in the gun sounds like a nice CCW package. The accuracy of the pistol is more than adequate, but hitting anything past 35 yards takes some serious concentration on trigger control (at least for me). That being said, the trigger does leave just a little to be desired in my opinion. It feels a bit gritty before hitting a wall, after which you get a decently crisp break (the grit has definitely smoothed out some after 500 rounds though). A plus is that it has a noticeable reset that I've heard was not present in the early M&P's. Not a bad trigger, but the one in my Shield has spoiled me I guess. What's the bottom line? This is a high quality, ultra reliable pistol and considering it comes with night sights and three magazines, you can't beat the deal.

I purchased this gun to compliment my collection of M&P pistols, and found that this gun is ergonomically correct for concealed carry purposes or for the application of home defense. The size and capacity was very important in the purchase, as the magazine capacity is 12 rounds, and is almost double the capacity of the M&P shield. I am pleased with this pistol. very happy with my purchase and pleased with Buds gun shop. I will amend this review after my next trip to the range.

Buds was great as usual and the M&P never fails to amaze!! My second M&P. Awesome gun for the price and with night sights! The stock S&W night sights are better than I thought they would be. Can't go wrong buying this little beauty!

I absolutely love this gun! I already own the full sized M&P 9mm but wanted something more concealable. When I found this gem online with night sights already installed I told myself "why not?!" I wasn't disappointed with this gun in the slightest. Upon arrival I found that it included 3 magazines (not indicated in the description). All three are compact magazines holding 12 rounds each, with two of them having the extended baseplate and one with the flat. Also, the night sights (green dot) are plenty bright in low light conditions and I have no problem lining them up in the dark. I've fired over 100 rounds through the gun without any hiccups so far and I'm actually impressed with the recoil ( or lack thereof) as well as the accuracy of the gun. I'm noticing no accuracy differences between either this or my full size model as I'm able to fire both equally well. Add to that the fact that I can use my full sized magazines in the gun for a little extra capacity and I feel I've got a definite winner here. One final note I'd like to add is that this handgun did contain the updated trigger assembly that was originally used in the Shields when they first came out. I prefer the trigger over my original full sized by leaps and bounds as it provides a much more responsive trigger reset.
