There are many reasons to shop with Buds. Excellent customer service, super fast shipping, easy layaway terms. Those are my reasons but I know there are many more. I was able to plan my timing right and secure one of these PWS rifles for layaway. After doing a side by side comparison with the 14.5" and 16" I didn't see a difference that would sway me one way or the other. Sure the comp is pinned but I'm not planning the add a silencer just yet. You truly can't go wrong with the Mod2 rifles at any size or caliber. Right out of the box it was impressive. The appearance oozes "elite". Sleek and smooth. The fit and feel of it is very well formed. They partnered with Bravo Company for the pistol grip and collapsible stock which I like amongst other competitors. This model does not come with sights. Not a gating item since I added BUIS and an EOTech EXPS3. The PWS long stoke piston system is entirely better than my DI rifles. I have ran 1,200 rounds through it so far with a gumbo of various types of ammo and not a single issue. I can barely tell I need to clean it (I did though). You can run more ammo, stay cooler and cleaner for longer periods of time. The overall weight of the MK114 is much lighter than my DI AR-15 (Colt LE6940) with it loaded and unloaded. The numbers may not be a huge difference but walking around my property with one then the other for about an hour at a time I felt the difference. I don't see there being many, if any internal upgrades needed for this rifle. The action on the BCG is butter smooth. The ambi charging handle operation is quick and easy. Mag changes will depend on the user and how much they practice but still nice transitions. I watched the videos and read other articles so coming from an average joe that likes to shoot, this rifle is more than "just a rifle". It's an investment. Something for everyone from novice shooters to tactical operators. This is going to be the best bang for your buck. You can get a $500 AR rifle and you will get what you pay for. Make the investment.
