I was in the Marine Corps 65' - 74'. Always liked shooting my 1911. The trigger on these are amazing. When I found out that this American Classic was made in the Philippines I was concerned. I always try and buy American made. What really did the trick to pull the trigger on this deal was the double stack 14+1. That will keep all the bad guys at bay.
I first bought the 17+1 9mm in the American Classic. When I went to the range, this pistol shoots better than my friends $3500 custom made 1911. He couldn't believe it either.
So I had to have the .45 acp. This pistol is very accurate. It is all hand filed and fit. No play whatsoever. It is a great price for a double stack 1911. The trigger is outstanding.
I'm glad I own both the 9mm and the .45..................Now, just to get some ammo!
