I have always wanted a 257 Roberts. Unfortunately, this rifle was not it. I could not get it on paper. The local gunsmith thought it might be poor head spacing. However, it was far worse than that. It was mis-chambered to the point the fired rounds looked like some other cartridge completely and it did not resemble an AI. I wrote Ruger about the problem and they said send it back at my expense and they would look at it. Instead, I had it rebarreled with a Pac-Nor barrel. Over the years I have had several new rifles that needed to be tweeked before they were accurate. This rifle will like hold that record for ever.
