The beginning to another PRS build. The 700s have so many choices of after market parts to build them how ever you want. So it's the perfect starting point for my 6.5 build

Buds does it again, always have had a positive purchase. The rifle is great bought this rifle for the action. To build a semi custom 6.5 creedmoor. Gun will receive a new barrel soon.

Awesome gun and the scope is not bad considering it is factory. I plan on replacing it eventually but I zeroed it in at 50 yards no problem and can't wait to get out to a longer range.

Bought this item on layaway from buds. I actually got a remington 783 in 300wm at first but I changed my mind, didn't want such a large cartridge so I wanted to change it to 243. When I called Bud's I actually ended up changing it to remington 700 in 6.5 creedmoor, thanks to buds for getting that changed over for no cost. There's a restocking fee but that got waved cause I upgraded. In terms of how this rifle is, the remington 700 really speaks for itself. Its an extremely popular, well mastered platform and is a big reason why I decided on the 700 series. There is absolutely no shortage of modifications for your rifle. New stocks, barrels, triggers etc. It really is a great platform. This model was specifically the Adl, so it's equipped with a blind mag. Looking back I sort of wish I had just shelled out a bit more for the bdl but hindsight is 20/20. The blind mag is okay, some people prefer it because it supposably keeps the stock more in one piece, less cuts in the stock equals more accuracy supposably, not sure if that's true. The ease of access on the bdl Is just better. There are aftermarket stocks for adl's so don't worry too much about there. There are also conversion kits so you aren't completely stuck one way or another. The rifle has a great adjustable trigger, especially at this price point. I will more than likely not replace it at any point. The stock is just a cheap stock, its not free floated either, it has a barrel support in the front. Some people adjusted their bedding or grind at that front support to technically free float it but you're better off just getting a new stock if it's accuracy you're after. The barrel is 24 inches which is fine, it is a bit of a thinner barrel so expect it to heat up a bit quicker. They are also not threaded so you'll have to get that done yourself. The scope is not even worth mention besides that it just goes in the trash. Buy a decent scope. Overall a really good rifle, especially for entry into the 700 platform. 6.5 cm is a cheap enough round to be able to plink with pretty often, and is a great round for precision so it's a good start.

Ned, The answer is yes Sir. Barrel swaps should be done by a gunsmith but an advanced hobbyist with the right tools and attention to detail can do it. Cheers and stay safe!
