Dual-pillar bedding platform that free-floats the barrel for shot-to-shot consistency. Synthetic stock contains a high nylon fiber content. Carbon steel magnum contour precision button-rifled barrel. Fed by metal detachable box magazine with metal latch. New Cross-Fire trigger system, factory set at 3.5 pounds and user adjustable from 2.5 to 5 pounds. SuperCell recoil pad. Will accept Model 700 front bases.

I have not owned this firearm for very long and have only shot a few rounds out of it, but this gun shoots beautifully. The bolt is smooth as glass, the safety is in the perfect spot, and I put a Leopold scope on it and it looks awesome. All in all, it’s a great gun.

Great rifle best trigger ever and can't beat Buds pricing or shipping

A lot of gun for a little $$. Took It to the range for the first time today and have to say I'm impressed. Probably the best rifle of the Remington 700 series. I have a Remington 770 in the .270 and its not as good as the new 783. I really wanted a big caliber rifle and didn't want to spend a lot for one. So I bought this one from Bud's and have to say I am very pleased with the product and as always with Bud's Gun Shop. I mounted a Barska 3-12x40 rifle scope on this rifle which I got from amazon for around $60 and got the whole thing set up for around $375. Overall this is a great rifle. Might get another in the .243. Very Happy Customer.
