The Good: The ordering/shipping process at Bud's was flawless. The order was shipped to my FFL the next day so I had the gun in-hand in just 4 days from the order. The gun fit me well and it killed ducks on both hunts. I really like the way it feels. The Bad: The Mossberg packaging was less than ideal. the gun was just in a plastic bag inside the box and was supported only by a couple of slotted cardboard dams across the box. As a result the plating was worn off in a couple places on the barrel. I didn't expect perfection with a low cost semi-auto like this but it could have been easily prevented with better packing. On receipt, I cleaned the bore but did not tear out the bolt and slide. On the first hunt, the spent shell would not reliably eject and sometimes the second shell would release from the magazine tube and jam in the action. I then took out the bolt/slide, cleaned and lubed it. A trial in the back yard with a few rounds worked well so on to the second hunt. This time the chambered round reliably ejected but either the bolt wouldn't close on the second round or it wouldn't even leave the magazine. It was only about 35 degrees but that was apparently cold enough to slow things down. Bottom line, I had a fairly expensive single shot gun. The customer service folks at Mossberg were quite friendly but they couldn't offer a solution. They sent a Fedex label to return the gun and I'm in hopes they can fix it quickly and get it back while the season is still open.

I purchased this shotgun especially for turkey season and I have to say that this is one of the best guns i have ever fired. It handles very well and recoil is surprisingly light for 3 1/2" shells. It holds a shot pattern better than any other shotgun I have come across. I have purchased several Mossberg firearms and have been pleased with each one. You cant go wrong with this one.

Yes, This shotgun uses a (Dual Gas-Vent System) that will fire the maximum length shot shell of 3.5" or any shorter shot shell without need for any adjustments. In real life it may not be reliable with "light" 1 oz 2 3/4 shells
