I was very excited to get the Desert Eagle in 44 magnum, and a little apprehensive about the recoil. I took the DE shooting yesterday and I was pleasantly surprised, the DE absorbs almost all of the recoil, is a blast to shoot. I put 50 rounds through it,they were Remington 180 grain, the DE ran excellent, I had a couple of hang ups with the first magazine, but once I got the grip and stance right, it functioned flawlessly. I did field strip, clean, and use my oil of choice Fireclean on the DE before going to the range. The factory grease was pretty sticky and it seemed like it could be a problem, and I wanted to take the DE apart and see how it worked anyways. I am extremely happy with my Desert Eagle, the 44 magnum is a loud, chest thumping, round and out of the DE if it makes incredible fireballs. I even talked my shooting buddies wife into shooting it, it blew her hair back, and her Oh S**t reaction was priceless. I cannot wait to get to the range again, I picked up another 100 rounds of 44 to shoot up. I am thinking a Smith and Wesson m29 6.5 inch Dirty Harry revolver is next, since I already have one 44 another would be nice

I really bought the Mag Research DE.44mag. on a whim...I thought it was a cool gun. Unfortunately my $1250 whim purchase turned out to be a real lemon. The sales transaction was flawless through Buds, but the actual gun was a dud. Jam, jam, jam, I can't get more than 3 rounds through without a jam, and I have tried numerous types of ammo, including ones recommended by the manufacturer.

DO NOT buy this item. First time out, the weapon consistently failed to eject the fired shell even utilizing dfferent mags from Magnum Research. Do NOT waste your money on this item.

Do NOT buy this piece of crap. I've had nothing buy problems with this gun. Spring is bad, poor finish, completely unacceptable for this price. Desert Eagle was a good gun until Kahr Arms had to take over production. IMI gave this gun original quality. Now, it's not worth a damn. Please DO NOT BUY!!

Serious Heavy Iron. Serious Fun to shoot. Very well made. This guns reputation for power is justified when you pull the trigger. If you can afford one I would recommend buying it. You won't be disappointed. I give it a 5 out of 5. Desert Eagle = Badass !!!

Serious Heavy Iron. Serious Fun to shoot. Very well made. It takes two hands to handle the Desert Eagle. It does have a lot less recoil than my Ruger Redhawk in 44 Mag so I can shot it longer without any pain. I went through 70 rounds of Federal & CorBon right ouit of the box with no problems with the factory mag, however with a ProMag aftermarket mag the last round would not feed. Very accurate and wows the guys at the range with their puny 9mm & 40 Short & Wimpy. Easy to strip and clean. Dirty Harry would be proud. The only reason it's not a 5 star are the sights. Plain jane notch and post without any dots. For $1200 it should have better sights. I may change them.
