The choke that is supplied , is it safe for slugs ( not sabot ) . New to chokes and unsure , thanks .

the H&R uses Mossberg Accu chokes here is the mod choke that will be fine with slugs again don't shoot it without a choke installed https://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/46301/Mossberg+Modified+12+Gauge+Accu-Choke+Tube another issues with using the gun without a choke installed is the barrel without the choke is very thin and easily damaged. if you hit something with the end of the barrel, (with no choke installed) it will bend and be out of round and not allow a choke to be reinstalled

DO NOT just unscrew/remove it for use with slugs you will have major problems with lead getting into the threads for the chokes and the slug will not be accurate due to the threads damaging the slug get a mod or more open choke

No David. The supplied screw in "Turkey" Choke is Full or Xtra Full. Any Full Choke is not recommended for slugs. Only Modified Chokes on down are recommended. You could just unscrew it to use slugs though.

Does it come already drilled and tapped???

Yes Shane, this shotgun comes with a Bead front sigh and is drilled and tapped for scope base.

Basic pump shotgun. Bought it for deer hunting in the upcoming season. Carlson rifled choke tube and remington slugger are providing 3 inch groups at 75 yards. Should work perfect. Great bang for the buck and will use to go to Georgia for spring turkey season. Basic and effective. Received in a couple of days. I could not be happier from a price versus versus performance basis.

still have not shot with this one but for the price it's not bad. His appearance is impressive....I think it is a good weapon.

Haven't shot this gun yet but I took it apart to clean and oil and I did a function check and I'm sure it's gonna work for me. Pretty heavy, if you want something light get a Mav 88. Comes with a nice rubber pad on the end of the stock. Also comes with a cable lock and choke wrench. TAKES MOSSBERG/WINCHESTER CHOKES not Remington (I made that mistake because Remington and H&R are the same company). We'll see how the turkey choke is, I got an improved cylinder choke so I can use this as a slug gun or a squirrel gun.
