Kahr Arms K9 9mm Double 9mm 3.5 7+1 Black Wraparound Rubber Grip - 7+1 Rounds

The Kahr K9 arrived at my FFL just a few days after I ordered it, NIB and pristine. Night sights are crisp. I took it home from my FFL, cleaned the preservative grease off the pistol and ran a bore brush and patch through the barrel, lubed it, and promptly took it to the range. Kahr recommends a 200 round break-in for their pistols. I put 295 through it in that first session - a mix of 200 FMJ in 115 and 124 grain; and 95 premium rounds comprised of: DPX and Black Hills Barnes 115+P; Gold Dot 124+P; HST 124; and Critical Duty 135. One round of the Critical Duty failed to feed. There were no other feed or ejection issues. Accuracy wise, the gun favored the heavier bullets, but all rounds had good accuracy. The HST and Critical Duty had exceptional accuracy, and I have ordered some HST 147+P for evaluation. Took the K9 to the range a second time already, and fed it a mix of ammunition types again. 100 trouble free rounds. The K9 is comfortable to shoot, accurate, and very concealable. I can wear it under an almost fitted t-shirt, IWB in a High Noon Bare Asset or a Remora. Only problem with the gun, aside from the one Critical Duty FTF during initial break-in, was that it grouped well but slightly right. The front and rear sights are driftable, though in very tight dovetails. The front sight was just slightly left of center. A gunsmith friend tapped it to proper center, and now the gun groups tightly at point of aim.

Ordered this pistol on Sunday and had it in my hands at the range on Thursday. Excellent fast service from Bud's. The pistol came drowning in factory preservative oil and required a good cleaning before use. Fit, finish, and function are all top notch. The black finish was evenly applied and no scratches or tooling marks were evident. The all steel construction and smooth trigger pull make this little pistol a pleasure to shoot compared to the snappy polymer-framed single stacks out there.
