Quit chewing tobacco and made buying this rifle with the savings a goal. Paying a bit more for the Henry vs. a modern Marlin or Winchester was well worth it. Tight fit and finish and gorgeous furniture. Was watching the price of this. Started at $670 and went up twice before I pulled the trigger at $705. Went to $722 after I placed order. Still a great price compared to everyone else but got the feeling the pandemic was creating some pricing opportunity for Buds-

Wanted to wait until I had a chance to shoot it before writing a review. Took it out yesterday and put about 2 boxes through it. Had to tap the rear sight over just a tad and it was dead on. Quickly becoming my favorite in the collection. Nice and tight out of the box and the trigger was a little heavy. After yesterday's session, everything smoothed out nicely and should only improve with additional use. Has the most beautiful wood stock and forend I've ever seen on a lever action rifle. This one's definitely something I'll never let get away, as others have come and gone over the years. Bud's, as always, was fantastic from start to finish. All around, I couldn't be happier!

Bud Fans, got my order yesterday on time. Everything was in tip top shape and I couldn't be more pleased. My local FFL was professional and followed up. Great purchase, I will be back.

Have wanted another lever action 30-30 for deer hunting. Had a Marlin years ago and was very happy with it (bought new in 1978) but have been unimpressed with the new Marlin's as far as fit/ finish quality. SOld it- as I so often did- to buy another gun. Their price remains competitive but once I took a look at the Henry's there was no doubt. The big question was whether I wanted to spend more for the H009 WLF or the standard H009. Ultimately the decision came down to (wife). As it turns out I am happy with that decision as the fit/ finish on the guns are impeccable and the WLF version might be too nice to get dirty! Have already worked up a load using Hornady FTX in 160 grain. Groups of 1 MOA at 100 yards as the rule. If it weren't deer season already would likely tweak it more. This will be the first of my Henry's...

The shipping and purchase part of it all went great. The problem I had was receiving the gun. The dove tail that holds the magazine tube in place at the end of the barrel was knocked almost all of the way out of it’s place. The ffl I went through fixed it but I was disappointed to receive a gun with something other than perfect. It didn’t happened in shipping because the shipping box wasn’t damaged but the factory box was. I feel as though the firearm wasn’t inspected before packaged to ship as it should have been. All in all I’m happy with the purchase and the gun functions great.

This makes my second firearm purchase from Buds. This Henry lever action is a real beauty! FIt and finish are excellent. Rifle arrived at my FFL without a hitch and was flawless without a single blemish on the rifle. The bluing on the rifle is top-notch. Lever action and cycling is smooth as silk. Well worth every penny. It looks just like one of those lever action rifles you would see in an old western movie. It even came with a super soft protective sock over the receiver to protect it from being scratched, so it arrived well-packaged. I absolutely LOVE the slogan on the box: "Made in America, or not made at all." I highly recommend this rifle to anyone who is thinking about getting it. Buds was amazing as usual. Top notch pricing, selection, communication (they kept me informed during every step of the shipping process) and also did I mention, the rifle shipped on December 4th and was ready for pickup from my FFL dealer by 1PM on December 5th? Amazingly fast shipping/service from Buds. I am a life long customer of theirs now. If you're going to buy gun items online, look no further than Buds! I recommend them to everyone. Thanks again Buds! Happy Holidays to all the employees at Buds and also the same to everyone who reads this review.

The gun arrived without issue. It is a beautiful rifle and I love its styling. The quality and attention to detail is second to none. I gave it a thorough cleaning and took it up to the range, where I fired a box of ammo through it. I did not experience any problems and it shot like a dream. The rear peep sight is an especially nice touch! I would recommend this rife to anyone looking for a quality American built firearm!

Bud's was great. Simple ordering system. Fast delivery I have a new H009 that I purchased from Buds. I purchased the Henry because of the extremely high reviews about quality and because the gun is 100% American made. I fired 1 box (20) shell through it yesterday for the first time. I have found several issues with the gun. 1. there were 3 finger loose screws in the receiver area. One was the screw that the lever pivots on. It had backed out visibly a good three turns. 2. The brass tube jammed on shells when loading. I looked at the end of the tube and it was paper thin. It looked like when the tube was made the end was short material or rolled foil thin. I cleaned up the end with a small file and that helped somewhat.. 3. The band that holds the barrel and tube tobether at the front site has issues. If the bottom screw, which clamps the band together is tightened, the band squeeses the outer tube so hard that the brass tube will not move. It came from the factory with the bottom screw little more than finger tight, so as not to over squeeze the outer tube. 4. With the ghost ring sights, I had to move the rear site as far as it would go to the right to get a shot within a 3" circle at 40 yards. The factory adjustment had the gun shooting 8" high and 8" to the left. Which may be normal. Oveall I love the gun, but am highly dissappointed in the assembly of this rifle. It would not seem that the gun had a final inspection. I don't know what to do. I have tightend all the external screws. I could probably fix the tube to work satisfactorily. Especially if I got a better made brass tube. And I'm going to scope it, so the sights aren't that big of a concern. My main concern is that, given the external issues in assemply that I have found, I don't know if I trust the internal mechanisms and assembly????? I have an email in to Henry. so we'll see. If Bud's had a return policy this gun would be on the way back. So, I guess I'm stuck with whatever I can work out with the factory. . . . Nearly $600 and I don't trust the gun because of poor workmanship. I am really dissappointed. Tom Carpenter

Thankful to have this sweet lever action carbine in hand. This craftsmanship on this rifle is top-notch. I couldn't believe how fantastic the lumber was on the stock, and how flawless the action felt. That said, I did have some trouble at the range with the sight picture, and it took a while to hone-in my shots at 50 yards, but the rifle itself had zero malfunctions, and looks to be a real keeper. As for Buds, princes can't be beat, that's for sure. I followed this rifle for days and was able to nab it when it was $20 less than normal. So that was nice. I do like the option to use e-check, but it does frustrate me that you have to wait a little more than a week to pick it up at your FFL that way. Otherwise, this is my 2nd Buds purchase, and both have been positive experiences.
