Is it nickle plated… I know they stopped nickle plating along with other brands for “supply issues”

Hi Andrew, this will depend on when this lot was made Sir. Since the UPC code remained the same, the date of manufacture will determine whether nickel plated or brass. I would give you a 70% chance of nickel and 30% chance of brass. Cheers and stay safe!

I have a S&W M&P 380 Shield EZ and am wondering if the Hornaday Critical Defense 380 acp (0 gr. FTX ammo is compatible?

Yes, you are correct. The Smith and Wesson M&P shield ez is 380 acp. This ammo will work great and is a fantastic choice for self defense ammo. It has great expansion, good weight retention and practically no jacket separation, so all around great defense round. Hope this helps.

I have always used this ammo in my Kimberly Raptor without issue but just bought a Seecamp 380. Anyone got experience with this ammo in the tempermental Seecamp?

This ammo is closer to a ball type ammo, so it "should" feed reliably, but sometimes the only way to know is to try. You could also try the 95gr and see what happens.

Alfred, it will run just fine in the Seecamp 380. The "Orgive" is the proper shape for the Seeca,p's feed ramp.

Recently started carrying a .380 pocket pistol and did a good deal of research on self-defense ammo to load it with. Hornady Critical Defense 380 ACP Ammo 90gr FTX was a regular in positive reviews, Bud's had a great price and I purchased numerous boxes. I didn't do any ballistic tests as I'd seen enough to satisfy my interest but I was interested in how well it functioned and it's accuracy. I am happy to say it fed through both my pocket .380's and extracted without any issues, there were no failures to fire. Recoil management was not an issue at all and accuracy through both was very good at 12 yards. It shoots very clean as well with little residue left after using. This is an excellent round from a major manufacturer that instills confidence as self-protection insurance. I would highly recommend it and will be buying it again when needed.

This is the only ammo I trust for self defense in 380 ACP, based upon ballistic gel tests. It's not just about penetration, it's also about expansion and consistency. That's very difficult to do in 380, but this ammo passes the test.

If you are going to shoot a low power round, then use the best ammo. I believe this is and Bud's had a good price and fast service.

I am happy to say never HAD the need to shoot a person but used for practice and never had a misfire or a round jam. I carry these rounds on me all the time on all my 3 magazines. Cost is reasonable considering their quality and performance.
