WOW! What a great price and fast service! I ordered these and they were here a few days later. These are exactly what I needed for my XD-40 3" subcompact.

I have a rather large hand and needed to get a better grip on my weapon. This extension made it possible to put my pinky finger on the front of the gun (where it belongs) with the rest of my fingers, rather than underneath the magazine.

Through trial and error, I found that they do increase magazine capacity but only if you leave the Pearce floor plate out of the mag. The magazine spring WILL hold the mag extender in place all by itself. Be forewarned however that the Pearce magazine extenders are a sun of a gun to get apart with or without the floor plate in the mag and the mag spring seems a little wimpy when the floor plate is removed to increase the mag capacity. But it is possible to get the standard 9 round mag to hold 11 rounds.

I haven't tried firing my gun with the floorplate removed nor do I intend too, as 9 rounds in the mag (plus one in the tube) are more than enough. I have an extra 12 round mag I carry just in case I may need may more rounds.

I tried this grip on the short magazine of my XDsc. The 13 round version in 9mm.

This extension wasn't long enough to allow me to comfortably grip with my pinky. I was also unable to get any extra rounds in the magazine. Other people have had better luck, but for me it didn't add any value.

I decided that the grip felt better without the extension. I prefer to place my pinky under the grip, rather than try to squeeze it onto the extension.
