A:Aluminum casings are fine for firing as has been proven by Blaser and others for years. Steel cased ammo was designed for loose tolerance guns like AK's and SKS's which eats them for breakfast. Tighter tolerance guns like modern weapons most manufacturers steer you away. Steel is not as pliable as brass and mostly when fired don't truly fully seal the chamber and you get lots of blow by which dirties up your rig way faster than brass cased ammo and requires cleaning much sooner to maintain some level of reliability. Never mix steel and brass cased ammo during the same firing session unless you clean between the two.See 11 more answers |
