I had problems with this little gun. I returned it to Charter Arms for correction of problems with the crane and light primer strikes. They were unable to correct the problem and replaced the gun with a stainless bulldog. It has been a great little carry gun. The customer service at Charter Arms was beyond excellent and all the people I interacted with there were friendly, courteous and helpful. I am very satisfied with the service I received and with my new Bulldog as well.

Great gun. Shot it a lot and is still going strong.

Total piece of junk!!! Do not buy this revolver!!! After only 10 rounds (of Hornady 180 grain) the cylinder will not lock!!! I am sending back to Charter Arms and as soon as I get it back will be selling it. I'm sticking with S&W, Ruger, and even Taurus. Will never buy a Charter Arms again.

This is a great little carry gun, although not as sturdy as a lot of guns with the same caliber, but the carry around weight is outstanding, don't use + P ammo and just a great little gun to have a good time with, had this one on my bucket list for about 5 years I'm glad bud got some in and got a hold of me, thank you buds

This firearm represents the return of one of Charter Arms most popular classics, since 1973, and I've wanted to own one since then. Having ordered and received my BullDog Classic .44 from Bud's Gun Shop in a timely manner; after a visit with it to the range, I am totally pleased with this new acquisition, as it has become my latest EDC. The firearm is very light indeed, launches a .44 caliber impact and the 3 inch barrel provides decent ballistics. Recoil is stout, but manageable, and, with practice, you'll discover it places your shots on point of aim! Thank you Bud's for providing an outstanding Charter Arms .44 Classic at your equally outstanding price point. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

It was my first time purchasing online. Did quite a bit of research and have only read positive reviews. Chatted online with a Buds rep who explained the purchasing process which was easy.
Selected firearm, then FFL and completed purchase. 5 working days later I received a call from the FFL stating that the product was in and ready for pickup.
I drove to the FFL and inspected the firearm. I paid the transfer fee and completed the transaction. Super easy and Buds has very competitive pricing. Buds also keeps up to date on rebates and discounts to ensure consumers are receiving any rebates or discounts which puts them ahead of many other brick and mortar stores.
It was an awesome transaction. Will definitely be using Buds again.

I always wanted one of these, and it has lived up to expectations! A large bore in a light package; has a smooth trigger pull with little or no creep, and it pretty much hits where you aim. What more can you ask for? Excellent service from Bud's!!

I had one of these back in 1981 but this gun is much more pretty. The bluing on this gun is excellent and the craftsmanship is excellent. Accuracy at 7 yards with PMC was 3-inch groups. Now the bad news. The gun was hanging up every 4th round regardless as to what cylinder was fired first. I did get about 75 rounds fired thru the gun. On every 4th round, you could feel the trigger starting to bind up as the trigger pull would be very gritty and the hangup would happen. I took the gun home and loaded it with spent cartridges, then dryfired the gun about 100 times as the trigger began to be more smooth. I have not fired the gun since this but will go back to the range and retest it. I'm going to give this gun 4 stars for craftsmanship. I've had problems with new guns before both Ruger and S&W so don't let one gun give you a bad feeling about buying it. I'm sure this gun will be repaired by the factory if it still hangs up after I re-test it.

I owned a Chater Arms .44 Special 3” Bulldog back in the late 80’s but sold it for some stupid reason. I recalled it as a very potent lightweight big bore revolver. In subsequent years I came to understand that Charter Arms had discontinued the Bulldog 3” revolver. Recently I discovered they are again making it so ordered a new model via Bud’s. I am glad I did. The new model has better fit and finish than the 80’s model I remember. Bud’s has a great price on them and they shipped promptly to my local dealer. I am glad to have this big bore lightweight revolver back in hand. It is perfect for hiking back country well armed. Thank you Bud’s for a fine pistol at a fair price and shipped promptly. Don B. I ordered my Bulldog Classic and picked it up from my FFL a week later. Buds did a great job with communication via email about the purchase and shipping. This is not my first Charter Arms revolver, so I knew what to expect. Charters are not as smooth as some other manufacturers, but they are also hundreds of dollars less expensive to buy. The ejector rod was rough when pushed, but I added some gun oil and worked the rod about 100 times and now all is well. The wood grips feel great in my hand. The three inch barrel looks just right on this gun. I like having a new gun that looks old. My wife says that it looks like something from a 1930s gangster movie. The trigger pull is heavy in double action as I expected, but quite nice in single action. The bluing on the frame was even and fairly rich. The cylinder bluing was not quite the same finish as the frame, but I can live with that. I enjoy shooting big bore 44 special out of a lightweight revolver. If you are used to shooting semi auto handguns, I suggest that you add a revolver to your collection. They require more interaction while shooting than a semi auto. You see the rounds in the cylinder, you see the cylinder revolving, you have to reload every 5 rounds, you have to physically eject the spent casings, you get to drop in 5 new cartridges, you get to close the cylinder, you can thumb back the hammer if you wish. For me, that all adds up to a more interactive shooting experience and is just good plain fun. Buy a Bulldog Classic and enjoy the experience.
