I bought this to be my cheap woods gun... When it came in its just too dang pretty for that. So now its pretty much a safe queen that i cant hit the broadside of a barn with. Im not used to the feel, sights, or anything else... But i know it does function flawlessly and shoot straight...i just cant aim

I am always looking for ways to get my guns quicker. So, I sent a USPS money order this time and it took 3 days for the p.o. to deliver it to Bud's. As Bud's team member they began processing my purchase immediately in 1 day. They shipped and I received the next day. Bud's is GREAT! 5 days! As for the pistol, the blueing on the barrel and cylinder were awesome. The blueing on this Traditions model 1873 reminded me of the heavy blueing on the original Henry 44-40. This revolver is a very well made piece. The cylinder locks up tighter than dicks hatband. Pietta is notorious for making very nice reproductions. Now, for the bad part..... The trigger needs to be widen and the trigger guard is too small for a man with oilfield work hands. If I were an outlaw rebranding cattle in the badlands, and I had to wear leather gloves to handle the hot branding iron, I would not be able to use this revolver on the law that just sneaked up on me. You think the law would give me the time to remove the leather glove so I could insert my trigger finger? The only way I could insert a gloved finger is to cock it first. But it is a keeper!

I purchased this revolver as a showpiece and it has not disappointed. It is just beautiful. Fit and finish are both exceptional, and the case hardening is very well done. Just holding it brings a feeling of the Old West. I liked it so much I have ordered the same brand of revolver in the other 3 barrel lengths to add to my collection. If this firearm becomes available and you truly want an Old West style firearm, I recommend you purchase it in this caliber.

Got this excellent firearm on layaway. Service from Buds was fantastic as usual, and the pickup took only a few minutes. The gun is excellent. Made for Traditions by Pietta in Italy, it is mechanically very solid, and everything functions just like it should. It locks up extremely tight, to the point where the gentleman helping me compared it to one of his Ruger Vaqueros. The action is butter smooth and the trigger pull is nice and light, easily below 5 pounds. A nice feature is its safety transfer bar, allowing one to carry it safely with all 6 rounds loaded, which I don't believe Buds mentions on their site, but is worth knowing. Fit and finish were very good, with a couple of sharp edges on the hammer, but nothing bad. If you're looking for a reasonably priced Single Action Army clone and want something that looks like an original, as opposed to a Ruger, then this is the gun for you.
