I'm enjoying shooting the Charter Arms 4.2 inch barrel 357 Target pistol I bought from Bud's Gun Shop. It's very accurate allowing me to get 2 to 3 inch groups holding freehand at 10 yards single action. Shooting freehand double action the groups are about 4 or 5 inches. The rear sight elevation is limited so I had to file the front sight down to keep from shooting low. Shooting with a rest, single action groups at 10 yards are less than 2 inches. It's a fun revolver to shoot. When I first shot the revolver the action was somewhat stiff. After lubrication and breaking in, the trigger pull smoothened out and now it's repeatedly comfortable and easy to hold on target when shooting double action. As it's very light, stout 357 loads produce a noticeable recoil, but the grips absorb the shock very well so it does not hurt to shoot. 38 Special and 38 Special +P do not produce much recoil at all. I lost the elevation screw when I was first sighting in. I got in touch with Charter Arms and they quickly sent me a replacement free of charge. They have excellent customer service. I feel the revolver is a very good investment and am happy to have one.

love this revolver! I carry it in a nylon holster mostly when I’m doing yard work and working in my driveway when servicing my semi truck or pickups or cars. I had a dream that I was attacked by a black bear and took it as a warning to stay armed when working outside. (We have a lot of bears in the area now) I like how it gets dirty with grit and dust and still functions great. 38special are mild in it but 357 mags are like a hand cannon. Buds was quick as always and I got exactly the gun they showed online.

This is a good quality revolver used for hunting with chest holster. Would definitely recommend this product.

The Charter Arms Target Mag Pug 357 is the 2nd Charter Arms revolver I've bought. The first was a 45 Colt Bull Dog XL I got about 6 months ago. I was so pleased with the quality, accuracy, and handling of the Bull Dog XL, that I decided to purchase the Mag Pug Target .357 a couple months later. The finish on the Mag Pug .357 was not as uniform as it was on the Bull Dog, with some parts of the left side of the frame not as thoroughly bead-blasted as should have been. The front sight also seemed a bit canted to one side (barely noticeable). I contacted Charter Arms, and they sent me a pre-paid shipping label and box. They also arranged for FedEx to pick up the gun at my house.
In a couple of weeks, I got the gun back. The finish was great and the sight was also improved. As with the Bull Dog, the Mag Pug works flawlessly and is very accurate. I was shooting from my porch using a towel folded on top of a board - not a Ransom Rest, but the best I had. Groups at 15 yards were 1 1/2 inches. Timing is spot-on and the cylinder gap is nice and tight. Overall I am very pleased with the gun. by the way, while it is advertised as the Target Mag Pug, the engraving on the left side of the barrel reads "Target Bulldog .357." I emailed the nice lady at Charter Arms about this discrepancy, and she said the engraving is correct - it is actually called a Target Bull Dog.
I have owned Smith & Wesson, Ruger, and Taurus revolvers on and off for over 30 years. I've had good success with all of them. I'd say the Charter Arms is a very good quality gun for half of what a Smith or Ruger costs. Why the cost difference? Charter Arms uses a bead-blast finish, which cuts down on production costs. Also, the lower part of the revolver (trigger guard and grip) slips up into the steel frame, similar to a Ruger. There is no attempt by Charter Arms to hide this, and blend the two pieces together as with a Ruger. Some might say it doesn't look as good, but I think it is simply different, and a lot cheaper for production costs. If you want a quality firearm for a very reasonable price, I highly recommend the Charter Arms .357. If by some chance you have a problem, Charter Arms will stand by their product and make it right.
