Since this model has been discontinued, how would I get parts if I needed them? I believe Sig has a lifetime warranty but in my mind that is no guarantee that it would be honored. I'm torn between the standard P229 Nitron and 220 classic carry. I would like to hear someones educated opinion on this thanks.

Robert, With millions of these sold there will be parts around. Also Sig will stand behind the warranty. They have warehouses full of parts and competent firearm technicians ready to do warranty work. Buy with confidence. If your still worried get BUDs lifetime warranty for a few bucks. Both great firearm, but I would lean toward P220 Clasic Carry.

It says "Sig" with a circle around it on the top of the slide. Very similar to the M11-A1. If you Google the model number there should be more pics.

I love Sigs as I've always preferred da/sa over the more modern striker fired pistols. This was the closest to my old P228 that was available. This pistol is extremely close in size to everyone's favorite, Glock 19, but to me, has the added safety of being da/sa. In my mind, you just can't go wrong with one of these. Sale and shipping from Bud's was excellent I might add.

Love the fact this gun doesn't have a rail. It's considerably more accurate than other 229s I've owned. Gregg Cotes has 15 round magazines, bought mine in stainless steel. First time out I had numerous failures to fire. I had the same issue with a P226 Legion. That problem seems to be getting better. Hope it's no more than a breaking- in process!

Placed the order and 9 days later the gun arrived at my FFL. The gun came brand new as listed. BUDS did a great job at getting the gun to me in a quick manner. The first day on the range, the decocker had an issue where it would not engage the hammer. To address the problem, I removed the grips on the gun and re tightened them. The decocker now works properly. I also had 2 failures where the striker hit the bullet, but did not fire. I cycled the 2 bullets again through the gun and they did fire the second time around. These problems occured within the first 400 rounds.

First off, as always, Buds is great. Selection, price, shipping and service is always outstanding! On this P229 Classic Carry (Talo Edition), what more could you ask for...this comes with night sights, G10 grips and 3 (three) 13 rounds mags...for hundreds less. And for anyone who doesn't know, an added feature is that you can purchase (and Buds has them) the Top Quality Mec-Gar P228 Optimum 15 rounds magazines that work perfect in the Classic Carry Model...I have them and use them!

I'm a happy camper. I took my new classic carry sig to the range yesterday and had zero malfunctions in 200rds I put through It ! Recoil is mild to moderate for a 9mm shooting 115gr WWB and Blazer Brass 124gr. It also cycled a mag of Hornady Critical Defense 115gr with the red tip no problem.
Other reviews here say theres did not come with the SRT trigger, but mine did.
The reset is almost instant like my other sigs with the SRT installed. Maybe I got lucky?
Accuracy was good, but I tended to shoot a little to the right of bullseye, and i believe this is due to the short reach trigger, or the thin trigger and i will problem swap it out for a standard one or a greys gun legion trigger.
The G10 grip is very aggressive and i love them! It fits my hand like a glove.
It comes with 3 13rd mags which is awsome, and 15rd mec gar p228 mags are available, and I will probably pick a few of them up as well.
I've bought probably 10 or more firearms on here using Buds layaway, and it is easy and convenient and I hope Buds continues to have this option always and at a affordable price.

Awesome old school P229!! Takes the older 13 round P228/229 mags which are available as surplus (about $15 each) from several internet suppliers. 15 round flush fit mags are available from Mecgar and now SIG as well - however the newer SIG P229 E1 15 round mags will NOT fit this gun. The G10 grips make this gun feel amazing - a vast improvement over the already good standard grips. The slide on this gun is called a "Legacy" slide which means the serrations only go half way up. This gun has the old-school and reliable short external extractor. This gun is supposed to have a Short Reset Trigger however the one I received did not have it. However, the trigger it arrived with is phenomenal and I am not sending it back to SIG because it is very smooth and crisp. This trigger feels so good I wonder if they installed the Sig Action Enhancement Package by mistake. At this price point I feel this gun is a true bargain.

SIG is synonyms of quality products. Although I haven’t taken out my 229 and test fire it already new the outcome. I have more than a few in my collection. It’s a SIG no need further explanation. The service from buds like always is pain free, price is the cheapest, what else can I ask?
