So anyone that carries the Glock 21 or variant needs one of these! Pistol tube comes off easy. Put a PDW brace on it without any issues. Iron sights and it’s a sweet shooter. Very soft recoil impulse. 300+ rounds of red box 230 grain and some blue box 200+p with no jams or hiccups. Takes any aftermarket trigger which makes controlled pairs ridiculously easy on 8” plates. Haven’t shot it suppressed yet but will soon. Definitely worth the 1k price tag. Very happy with no regrets.

Love it. It runs like a sewing machine. More accurate than I was expecting. I added an eotec and a collapsible brace. The whole set up was a little more than I wanted to spend but I guess cool things aren’t cheap and cheap things aren’t cool

What a great pistol. Love mine. Accurate, low recoil and takes glock mags. It is also pretty light weight. So far it has been reliable, but definitely prefers ball ammo over hollow points. And if you are going to run it suppressed, you definitely need the bolt weight kit from CMMG. It has to be ordered separately as it does not come with the gun. It is only about $25.

This is the first CMMG product I've purchased, and I am happy with the decision. I decided to go with the Guard 45 because it is designed for Glock .45 magazines and pairs well with the glocks in my vault, and 1911 pattern guns that use the same ammo. Out of the box, I added a Trijicon RMR (and also have plans to add a Maxim pistol brace and tri-lug adaptor for a Revo 45 can). On the maiden voyage to the range, (without brace and can) I shot only 200 rounds through the pistol, I can say that I'm extremely satisfied with the pistol's design, quality and function. Another reason I chose the Guard was it's radial blowback system that is designed to reduce felt recoil. For comparison, I also shoot a Zenith MP5 clone with roller-delayed blowback and another Trijicon RMR. I have shot the two platforms side by side, and can say the HK roller system feels 2X more smooth than the Guard, and is 2X more accurate. Shooting from a pistol rest at 15 & 25 yards, the MP5 is capable of cutting a single ragged hole. The Guard tended to scatter hits in a 2" radius. I think this could be due in large part to the bargain basement Winchester 230gr ball ammo I was using, so I'm looking forward to another trial with a couple other loads. Also, I'll reserve final judgement on accuracy and felt recoil impulse until after I have installed the Maxim brace. Another reason for my 4/5 rating is CMMG's customer service. I've pinged them twice with questions, and JustinH from CMMG's CS department has gotten back to me promptly and courteously. The fact that CMMG is a US company, super responsive and that I share many of the same values is also a plus. If this pistol turns out to be soft shooting and accurate as my MP5 clone, I'll bump the product rating to 5/5. Time will tell! Finally, given CMMG's penchant for innovation, I'm looking forward to owning more of their products in the future.

I was looking for a pistol/rifle that would work with my Glock 21 duty pistol magazines and have had good luck with CMMG in the past. I was also looking for a platform that would work with the suppressor that I have on order. I added a brace, flashlight and reflex sight to the pistol which not only makes it look cool, but shot amazing. At 25 yards I had no issue shooting sub-MOA accuracy. The build quality is excellent and of course no malfunctions after 200 rounds. I used Kriss Vector .45 extended magazines which stuck a little further out than I liked but the stock Glock 21 magazines work perfectly. I can see a CMMG Mutant 7.62 pistol in my future.

Wanted a 45 ACP carbine, er, I mean pistol, that wasn't a Thomspon (don't want to carry a piano with me when I go to the range) and I didn't want to spent $1500 for a Kriss. 3 days from purchase to LGS pickup... Added an MRO and took it to the range yesterday with 26-round 45 ACP mags (and 13 round Glock mags it comes with one 13 rounder). Ran like a clock, not a single FTF/FTE/FTF (note, I was only firing 230g ball)... accuracy was fantastic (I added a brace). Only complaint (and I don't really care that much), the mags do not drop free and a full one does require some effort to insert (unlike my MK9 CMMG)... please note you cannot put a full mag in with a closed bolt unless you short yourself one round (e.g. 25 or 12), also not a big deal. Really happy.
