Bought this rifle awhile back and topped it with a Nikon 6-18 scope and it prints one ragged hole at 100 yards. It is my go to gun for prairie dogs and I very seldom miss unless its beyond my capability of 71 years of age.

Bought this rifle about 9 months ago and it was great up until last week when the extractor broke along with the front of the bolt. Was getting 2" groups at 200yds up until then. This rifle has not even had 200 rounds thru it yet and this happened so I'm really not happy.Got to contact Marlin and see about getting it fixed under war.

Had this gun for a few months now and love it. Shoots .5 moa all day long. With factory or handloads. Built well. Functions flawlessly. You won't be disappointed and for the price its hard to beat it, for what it has to offer. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a great gun for a great price.

FIrst of all, I want to say that I have not fired this gun yet. I'm rating it a 5 due to the workmanship and how beautiful it really is. I bought this gun in a 223 and 30-06. I want to let you know that this 223 with it's varmint barrel is VERY heavy. You would never expect a 223 to weight this much and I'm not sure if I like it or not. Be ready to purchase a bipod for it and of course you have to buy a scope. I'm pretty strong, but would not want to carry this thing very far. The 30-06 is much lighter without the varmint barrel. All in all though and beautiful gun. Can't wait to shoot it.

Damn what a tackdriver. Sighted in at 2 inches high at 50yds and went straight to 200yds. 1 inch group at 200. Trigger and gun were outstanding. Adjusted down to 2 and 1/2 lb. Great

I already have this in 22-250 and can not imagine anything as fun to shoot as these are. Had to have the 223 and setting it up the same way as the other. Great adjustable trigger, smooth bolt, shooting nickel size group 230 yds, 26" bull barrel, half the price of anything of this quality. Buds held the rifle through the lay away as my ffl guy had not updated his info and when he did I paid the rest then Buds shipped as they said. Good too deal with. PS you may wonder why 230 yds. That was made due to I guessed the distance on power line right of way and set up the target just to see if my guess was close I then ranged it and thus over guessed 30 yds so was not walking back to adjust. Probably has my 100 to 600 yd off so darn i'll have to shoot it again lucky me. Shooting 45 grain winchester off the shelf and that makes a poor boy happy.

I have purchased 13 of these new Marlin X-7, XL-7, XS-7 and X7-VH rifles ad each one is as good as the next. Very accurate right out of the box just like a Savage! Costs much less than a Savage 110 as well. The fit/finish are all ok though there is not much to fit on a synthetic stock.
I have bought 22 in guns as well as 26 inch rifles and both shoot well with nice triggers etc. I have no complaints what so ever with these rifles, now make some more calibers so there are more choices. Possibly a magnum or two? Maybe a .257 Bob??
If you buy this over a Savage Axis you are way ahead of the game as I personally don't feel ANY of the new to the market "workin mans" guns are as good as these Marlins for the buck. Good job Marlin, keep it up and you will have these other companies scrabbling for their next new great idea!
