I have used these bases for years without any problems. These are the bases that I use when I'm mounting a scope for friends that I know aren't the kind to stay on top of maintenance on their firearms. Once the rings are turned into the dovetails, you don't have to worry about the rings shooting loose. The only negative is that there's no windage adjustment built into them. Bud's was great as usual to deal with.

I am very impressed with the Leupold Dovetail Style mounts. It seems like everyone has went to the picatinny style rail, however, I prefer the solid dovetail style mount. It is locked in by the dovetail so there are no screws to loosen. They are extremely solid and secure. I have these mounts on all my guns.

I bought these with the DD medium matte rings. They fit my rifle (TC Compass) perfectly. I like these over the Weaver or Picattinny style due to the solid mounts. The only issue people may have is if they need the bases with windage adjustment. Most modern rifles that are predrilled should not need windage adjustment. I would definitely recommend.
