I love this gun! I prefer it over my 9mm and take it the range as often as I can. The gun is a dream to shoot and I've haven't experienced a failure yet. I don't think the Chamber indicator is particularly obvious but I wouldn't rely it on it anyway. The slide seems cheap but it's because it's metal with a composite shell, so rest assured it's steel. I like the tall front sights it makes it very visible. The only problem is the ammo is getting pricey. I'm very happy with this firearm and glad I decided to purchase it.

This was my first experience with Bud’s and I was pleasantly surprised from start to finish with the client service I received. In the middle of a pandemic I was able to order the firearm I wanted, and which was difficult to find elsewhere, in a simple and painless way. It was shipped to my FFL in Southern, California in a timely manner and arrived in perfect condition. The FN Five Seven lives up to its hype. What a cool firearm. I recommend without reservation.

The Five-Seven makes for a good time at the range. The gun is light, but it has a very light recoil. The ammunition is unique to FN (5.7x28) and is tapered like rifle ammunition. The ammunition is readily available on the internet, but is not at most brick-and-mortar stores. (So if your State doesn't permit internet ammo purchases, you may have some difficulty finding it.) I read a review somewhere that describes the Five-Seven as a "flame-thrower", and it does have an impressive muzzle-flash. It comes with 3 magazines (the standard magazine holds 20 cartridges, and a "restricted" magazine holds 10--for jurisdictions that limit magazine capacity). The magazines are double-stack, and aren't hard to load. The rear sight is adjustable for elevation and windage, but for me the gun was accurate out of the box. The gun is pretty simple to disassemble and reassemble, so it's easy to clean and maintain. I recommend it.

Took a year of badgering by my best friend but bud's notified me of an offer for this gun I had been looking at. I jumped on it and was very pleased with this 5.7 handgun. Low recoil flame thrower.

Ordered my FNH Five-Seven from Buds and just like the other 10+ orders in the last years, it arrived in the timeframe promised and in perfect condition. This is a sweet pistol, I've run about 200 rounds through it without any FTFs or FTEs. The balance is perfect with almost no recoil witch allows for very quick follow up shots. Ammo is available from FN and American Eagle which you can purchase for about .29/rd. This is a nice looking pistol, fits nice in your hand and the safety is placed in an ideal location for ease of operation. It ships with three mags and a very nice case. A real head turner at the range.

I like this pistol so much....I bought a second one! Truly this is the most innovative handgun to come down the pike in decades...really since the beginning of pistol designs! The tiny bottleneck 5.7x28 cartridge has impressive numbers and is even more impressive when viewed from the perspective of its original numbers, or indeed, those posted by intrepid hand loaders! Even quoting relatively anemic numbers, the Hornady 40 gr. V-max is capable of hitting at 100 yards, being less than 2" high in between and dropping less than 6" when it arrives at 150 yards with over 1,350 fps velocity retained! So, even with deliberately reduced OEM loads, the 5.7x28 cartridge is a performer. Naturally there are aftermarket rounds out there that show what the ".22" FiveseveN can REALLY do, and they are expensive, but it's nice to have the options. The gun itself...superb! Typical FNH quality...all polymer "skin" with steel where steel is needed. EVERYTHING on this pistol works smoothly and effortlessly. The slide unit pops off the frame so easily one wonders why everyone else isn't doing it this way! Despite the huge magazine capacity, grip size is quite reasonable and polymer-contoured and reach to the OEM trigger is EASY for this size 7.5 hand! The index-finger oriented safety makes total sense....it doesn't take but a moment to adapt to the clearly superior, more intuitive design. Again, even when firing "anemic" by 5.7x28 standards ammo, the gun functions flawlessly and is rifle accurate all the way out to 200 yards! I was surprise to find is uses "bump feed" for the rifle-esque cartridge rather than the far more reliable (as we have believed) "controlled feed" of the 1911 and Glock. However, this gun...the FiveseveN, has proven to feed with absolutely boring certainty from FNH magazines...both 10 round and 20 round, as well as Promag 30 round! The noses of said rounds are perched right up there near the bore line and slip right in as the slide closes. The FiveseveN is a truly modern pistol and cartridge idea...many...perhaps even "most" dont' get it, yet enough DO seem to understand it to keep it alive and selling despite its high acquisition cost. As for all the ridiculous "debate" about whether the caliber is effective, I'm sure anyone with a computer and keyboard can easily discover just how effective is the 5.7x28 without having it spelled out for them...and for those who still need it spelled out for them...please, buy something else...like a 1911 in .45 ACP and leave innovation to those who embrace it. I would hate to be on the receiving end of ANY sort of round from the FiveseveN.... My recommendation is to buy this pistol!

This is one of those handguns you either "get" or you don't. They can also be hard to find and many have spent years waiting for them to be available. The FiveseveN is truly innovative in every area. FNH started with a clean sheet and designed a gun and cartridge for the modern understanding of ballistics, armor, firepower advantage, and the now proven effectiveness of ultralight bullets impacting at supersonic velocity. The FiveseveN is a great handling pistol....full-size but due to it's light weight, easy to carry and shoot. All controls are again, designed from a fresh perspective, which is why the safety is just above the trigger which is where the finger can index on it. Despite have a large grip, being of contoured polymer, it fits the average hand just right and reach to the trigger is not at all a problem with medium size hands. Field stripping the FiveseveN is easier than any other firearm. Simply retract the slide about 1/4" and pull the release button on the left side which lowers the "cam" down and releases the barrel lug. With this, the barrel and slide unit just lift right up. It goes back together just as easily and smoothly. The CA model which this one is, comes with three, 10 round magazines which is a shame for a pistol built to hold double that amount, but even 10 shots of 5.7x28 are impressive. Speaking of the cartridge, the 5.7x28, as I stated up front, either you get it, or you don't. Original factory loads exceed 2,200 fps from a 4.75" barrel, and while much is made of the round being originally designed and built to pierce body armor, this in now limits how the round acts in tissue...or gelatin. There are many who have demonstrated this tiny bottleneck cartridge can take large game with a single shot. As for the cost...as polymer pistols go, it's expensive and there is nothing in it's construction to explain that other than consumer demand, but considering a quality, "high-end" revolver or semiautomatic pistol from other manufacturers can easy cost as much or more, it's not so far out of line. The is single action, can be carried cocked and locked with full safety, and points well with large, adjustable sights. For those with limited hand strength, the slide is easy to retract, and recoil is about half that of a 9mm, even for such a light gun. Because the rounds are so tiny, there is very little difference in the felt weight of 23 ounces empty and loaded, and the magazines are easy to load because the rounds simply snap in from above versus having to be pushed in and slide back. This is of course part of 21st century military design where double column magazines are meant to be quickly "charged" straight in. If you can find this gun in stock, and if you're one of those who gets it, or simply someone who wants the most unique and innovative pistol and cartridge combination available, this is a must buy! Bud's was very accommodating and swift in executing this transaction - as expected, and as experienced many times previously.

The FNH Five-Seven in my opinion is still one of the most innovative semi-automatic pistols on the market today. Ergonomically designed for a comfortable grip and field stripping it for cleaning is a snap because of the spring and barrel being of one removable part. I also really like the fact that when shooting it there is minimal recoil which makes it easy to stay on target for maximum grouping.

This is by far my favorite hand gun and has to be number 1 on the market. It comes with 3 magazines. I purchased the 20 round mags from fn which is more then enough fire power when ccw. Took it to the range and it shoots flawless. Virtually no recoil. Very accurate long distance and short. Very light. Excellent grips. I even purchased the 30 rounds mag from p mag and it shoots like a dream. This is a must have for anyone who wants the best hand gun on the planet. Very easy to take down and doesn't really get dirty much because of the way it was designed.
