The Hunter EX features solid-frame construction for durability and strength, with sealed actions (to keep out dirt) and self-adjusting locking bolts. The sub-gauge models are made with lightweight alloy and built on a true frame and all the parts have been built to scale - including the stock, forearm and receiver. Hunter Series shotguns are made for all aspects of hunting and shooting with performance, reliability and value at the forefront. They take to the field as easily as the range with exceptional quality and classic style. The wooden stock and forearm features cut checkering. Each one of these over/under shotguns comes standard with fiber-optic front sight, vent-rib, chrome-lined barrels and a top tang barrel selector and safety. They also come with 5 screw-in, Beretta-style choke tubes (SK, IC, M, IM, F).

After shooting 100 rounds the top firing pin started misfiring. It's not striking primer hard enough. This causes a possible cook off when the shell is removed. It's been back to Kansas City twice for same problem. I am disappointed with TriStar Customer Service. Gun still malfunctions. I am awaiting response from Bud's. I want to return it for credit to buy something more reliable

This is an excellent shotgun for a very reasonable price. It is very light, and be prepared for the recoil. it does kick if you shoot alot. I bought a Pachmayr recoil pad for it, which gives a little more length, and I needed that. Have not shot it with the pad on it, but fits better now also. I give this gun 5 stars.

Awesome, can't beat it for the price. I have 500 rounds through mine without a single issue . It will bust clay birds all day.
