This gun is banging. I have two of these long slides. Carry and Concealment is not difficult at all for this long slide. Nice slime frame and shooting this gun can lead to a severe gun range addiction. If you are in the market for a handgun, consider the FNS9 Longslide for your short list.

I am very pleased with this pistol. It is well balanced, points naturally, and fits my hand well (I changed to the straight back strap). I have put 500 rounds through it, and shot steel, aluminum and brass cased ammo. I had two FTEs on the very first magazine, but no failures of any kind since. While I have read about "some" having gritty triggers, this one does not seem gritty, but I have noticed that the take up has gotten slightly smoother after some use. It comes with three magazines. Nice pistol for the price.

I was a little disappointed on shipping slower than I thought it would be,the gun was new but it was a 2013 model ,mag springs were too stiff if loaded to full capacity it was very hard to rack one into the pipe so I load it one shy I like the pistol but buds in ky had it shipped from up north somewhere makes me think they shoped around and found one someone had laying around on shelf.

First and foremost, I am a glock guy, I have always considered the other poly pistols as a "good attempt" to knock out the best combat handgun I have ever used, both overseas and in matches. So far, the FNS long slide is a strong contender. The sights are fantastic, the trigger is actually a bit more consistent than a glock's. Its has a bit heavier and longer travel, but not much, but its a steady consistent pull, rather than a glock's "squish, then break. Accuracy is well above par, it shoots as tight of groups as my cz target shadow and nighthawk pistols for about 60-85% less money. Its ergonomics are fantastic. Similar to a smith and wesson M&P but with a better trigger and far better accuracy, in my experience. So far, the only caveats I have are #1 the long term reliability, that is an unknown at this time. My glocks have shot tens of thousands of rounds, and other than standard cleaning, and replacing the recoil springs ever couple thousand rounds I don't do anything special. Time will tell if the FNS can withstand that abuse. #2. aftermarket part and accessories. Again, time will tell, but as of right now, holsters, aftermarket triggers, mags and so on are hard or impossible to find, and will be until there is a big enough market out there to make it worth the while for companies to start making such. All in all, with about 1000 rds through mine and one club match won already. This is an outstanding pistol. I have both the 4 inch and the five inch. If you like glocks, the learning curve is very small, and if you're a 1911 guy, the flat backstrap gives you a similar feel to your antiquated piece of weaponry ;). If the zombies rise tomorrow, I am still taking my glock 17, just because its battle proven. But, give it time. The FNS series has everything but the outstanding track record and accessibility of goodies to take the crown. And, if you're going to buy one, buy it from Bud's. Service was fast and the price was lowest I could find. Even after I paid my FFL dealer his due and proper and the tax man, it was cheaper than the sticker price before tax than any of the local gun stores in my area. SAFE AND FUN SHOOTING.

After looking at all similar grade competition firearms, I settled on the FNS-9L. I will write as detailed a review as possible: BOX Gun came in a nice hard box with the gun, three mags, extra backstage, lock, paperwork, and factory fired test round. FEEL Gun fits wonderfully in the hand with the rounded backstrap. I'm able to get a nice high grip on it and the beaver tail prevents slide bite. The mag release, IMHO, is perfect. Large enough to toggle quickly but small enough not to get in the way. Slide release is small and requires some force to toggle. This will take getting used to. Although it seems to be lightening up. Takedown lever is a toggle down type. No issues there, although the slide has to be in just the right spot to slide off and requires some force. Not a real issue. Grip has aggressive checkering that really allows for a great handle. Overall, the gun is extremely well balanced and is a breeze to aim and acquire targets quickly. TRIGGER This is somewhat controversial and subject to preferences. I personally love the trigger. Small take-up and very crisp break. Little gritty on the take-up but I suppose that will work it's way out with time and rounds down range. Much better than M&P Pro out of the box, IMHO. SIGHTS Sights are great. Although three-dot sights, they are a step above the rest. Front dot is PROMINENT. Extremely easy acquisition. Rear sight is cut to reduce glare and has a unique "U" shape cutout. Really like these. ACCURACY Spot on. This gun will be better than I will ever be. Overall, the gun is wonderful. Great lock-up and perfect feel.
