Sig Sauer's 1911 Engraved Texas edition features scrolled engraving on a polished Nitron slide with gold accents and custom Texas redwood grips emblazened with the Texas star. The top of the slide has an engraved Texas state seal, with "LONE STAR STATE" on one side, and "The enemy never sees the backs of my Texans!" General Robert E. Lee on the other side. A beautiful full size 1911, this Engraved Texas model features a black hard coat anodized beavertail frame, a combat hammer, skeletonized trigger, and low profile night sights.

I happen to be a big SIG fan and I saw this particular version while searching product specs on .45's on the web. I saw the Texas Special Edition version and being a Texan, it was suddenly became one of those "have to have" kind of things. Then my fun really began as this was a limited edition and very hard to find. My local dealers could not locate or find them for me through their channels. Then I found this on Buds! This was my first purchase with them and I could not have been more pleased with the service, support, and speed of delivery. First rate and top notice. Buds has become more first go to source.

Seems overpriced (sig’s fault, not buds). I don’t feel that you get what you are paying for, especially since it’s not even a limited edition. Compared to my other 1911’s, this thing just does not feel right while shooting. The fact that it does not use a full-length guide rod doesn’t help. Unless you are just dead set on getting different Texas edition 1911’s (like me) I would pass on this one.
