Mossberg patriot is a nice hunting rifle for a fair price. I picked one up from Bud's chambered in Win270. It's another nice hunting rifle at a good price.

Good solid rifle with good trigger. Bolt has a little play but is fairly smooth. Worth the price!

It's a .270. It shoots just like you think a .270 should from a 22" barrel. It's capable of MOA, with the right load and if you do your part. Though, it doesn't have any aftermarket parts,(though you really don't need any, with this gun) if you must have a one piece picatinny rail, Mossberg will sell you the same rail and screws from the NightTrain model. Trigger is very crisp, with almost zero pre travel. Very nice adjustable trigger. It will drop to 2 lbs. I have mine averaging 2.5 lbs and it comes stock at 3 lbs. It's a perfect entry level rifle and with proper care and a Boyd's stock, it should hold out long enough for even the grandkids to harvest many whitetails.
