I purchased this rifle this past Christmas and took it to the range a few weeks after receiving the rifle. The first outing with the rifle shooting factory 180gr Winchester I had issues with the bolt being stuck after firing it. It was at random. The rifle would fire a few rounds and eject perfectly fine and a few would cause the bolt to stick. I contacted Remington and had it sent to a gunsmith in Oregon. Once I got the rifle back I took it to the range and after the first few rounds the rifle did the exact same thing it was doing before hand. Long story short this rifle has been a headache right out of the box. I have another Model 7 with no issues and was excited about this one but after owning it I hope no one else purchases one.

Remington Model Seven 300 WSM
In the past, I have always been a fan of Remington rifles and have owned several. Upon receiving this rifle, I repacked it and sent it to a gunsmith for a muzzle brake installation as well as a Timney trigger as I couldn’t adjust the factory trigger much under 4 pounds (4 lbs 11 oz to be exact). After the work was done and I got the gun back, I tried to chamber some Winchester factory rounds and could not chamber them. I then took the rifle to a very reputable local gunsmith who builds custom rifles. He used head space guages to confirm that the chamber was too small. That was a first for him in a gun from the Remington factory. So now he is reaming out the chamber to the correct specs. Needless to say, I was a little disappointed. I really like all the features of the rifle but couldn’t believe it left the factory with a chamber under standard tolerances. Hopefully no one else has had this problem .

Even though buds guns was great as usual. The Remington mod seven 300wsm was a disappointment. I have bought three other sevens in different configurations and they are great. However this one had several issues. Pitting around muzzle poor crown and a burr as rifling exited. Difficult to chamber and Unchamber a live round. Would not eject round out of chamber and adjustment screw backed out so far out of the trigger it hit your finger. I didn’t fire it contacted Remington and they were very helpful getting it back to factory. Not Remington quality I’m used to. Looking forward to getting it back with issues fixed. It really is a great feeling rifle

This gun is actually pretty sweet now that I finally got it back from Remington. I took it out and put the bolt in at my FFL dealer upon receiving. The bolt felt tight but I figured maybe that was normal for a new Remington and one of the gun guys said it was. I usually shoot Ruger bolt actions, not tight. Anyway as soon as I got it to the house I put the bolt back in and oiled it up a little. Bolted it three times, the third time the firing pin assembly blew out the back of the bolt. I called buds within an hour of receiving this gun which I paid for the insurance on which was very pointless, and I know I should not have left the store. Then emailed them hoping to get a more knowledgeable person. I finally got an email back Weeks Later stating that they would send it back to the manufacturer for me. By this time I had already contacted Remington and they were super helpful. Now that I have the gun back it feels very sweet it is no longer tight in any way, but have yet to shoot it. I'm giving this three stars because Remington made it right

This is a great shooting little gun. Right out of box it is shooting a 1" group using Winchester Deer Season 150 gr ammo. I have to admit it does kick a little but not enough to cry about. I mounted a Redfield Revolution scope on it using Tally rings and this is a great deer hunting compo. I have been looking at this gun for some time now. Buds had the best price. It was shipped and delivered in two days. That is the fastest I have ever received a ordered gun. This was my first experience with Buds but it will not be my last.

A:Jeff, this rifle uses a 4 round capacity, Hinged floor plate Magazine with a 3.75" internal length. You would need a new barrel and bolt to make this a 6.5 PRCSee 3 more answers | -
