Great fun and cheap to shoot. Very good grouping and no recoil. First gun my girlfriend ever shot and she loves it.

Henry has hit a HomeRun with this petite little carbine. My wife is small, has arthritic hands, and not much upper body strength -- but she can handle this very lightweight carbine quite well. The short barrel, short Length of Pull, and 4 1/2 Lb weight is exactly what is needed by children and small women. If anybody else is making a carbine like this, I am not aware of it. The Fore End wood is very streamlined, NOT bulky like most lever actions. The action is surprisingly Smooth, and easy for a small woman to operate. The Trigger Pull is also surprisingly good -- only a faint hint of creep if you really look for it, and it measured 2.6 Lb of pull, 3 times in a row. The fit and finish are also surprisingly good for under $300, and the Walnut stock has nice grain and is well finished. Our specimen came with an extremely dirty bore, out of the box. We were in a hurry to shoot it on Christmas Day, so instead of cleaning it, we just shot the crud out of the barrel. It took 8-10 shots to blow out the manufacturing grease and crud, but then it settled down to shooting nice groups. I plan to do a Complete Disassembly, Scrub the Bore from the Breech end, and do a thorough cleaning & lube of the action. The owner's manual says NOT to take it apart, but for those of us who have the skills and a good set of Hollow Ground screwdrivers, I strongly recommend that you go to the Henry Website and view their EXCELLENT videos on Disassembly & Reassembly. I've never seen any manufacturer provide such incredibly detailed, professional-quality videos like these. I can't believe that it took me so long to discover this nearly-perfect little 22 LR carbine. And no, I'm not being paid to write this review -- I hate reading reviews that were bought & paid for, and I'll never do that. But, Henry deserves credit for realizing that women and kids are the future of our sport, and they need firearms that FIT them. Now I don't have to Shorten the buttstock on my $900 Marlin Mountie, which would still be heavier, anyway.

I bought this gun to carry on my 4 wheeler. I was looking at the carbine model, but I didn't want the big loop. I like the nice compact size and the dead nuts accuracy right out of the box. Will buy from Buds again!

Great gun. Fun to shoot. It has a shorter length of pull which I like even though I'm an adult. Lighter than full size Henry's. Look forward to lots of fun with this gun.

I, mom to three boys, bought this for myself and my three boys to shoot cowboy lever action matches. It is awesome. After the first two matches I realized right away we needed to upgrade our front and rear sights. We put on the Williams FP-GR-TK for the rear sight and the Lyman 17AHB (.404 high) for the front sight. MAKE NOTE: Before we could put on the front sight, we had to send off the barrel band to be modified. Based on recommendations from other match goers, we sent it to Skinner Sights. If you want a different front sight to a Henry Repeating Arms Rimfire round barrel lever action rifle, you will discover that the one piece sight/ramp/barrel band combo that comes with it leaves very few options for a change. Skinner Sights offers a modification to the steel front sight/ramp/band combos that will allow mounting the front sight of your choice and its only $25. We love this rifle and it has been great for matches and look forward to all the bonding time it has brought and will bring to me and my boys. Dad uses it, too, but he is probably going to get the H001T with octagonal barrel. Oh, the boys use it for the 4H Shooting Sports as well.
