Excellent gun and you can't beat Smith and Wesson's quality and lifetime warranty. This gun has performed flawlessly with several different types of .38 and .357 ammo. I have fired around 650 rounds through it so far and I have no complaints about accuracy or dependability. I would strongly encourage anyone interested in a .357 to consider the 686.

Great gun, bought around Black Friday this year and picked it up after coming home from college. Flawless process from Bud's to my local dealer and a high quality revolver from Smith and Wesson. I finally got to shoot some 158 grain .357 rounds through it today and it was dead on, no need to adjust the sights out of the box. Lower price than any of my local options and great service from Bud's! Will buy from Bud's again in the future.

S&W 686 is an extremely accurate, comfortable full-size revolver. While it doesn’t come cheaply, this pistol demonstrates just what you get when you drop the extra Benjamins. Excellent!!!

Awesome gun, I couldn't be happier. I put about 200 rounds through it when I first got it with one round that seemed to have stovepiped after firing- I cleared it and no issues after that. I was in the lane next to my buddy who was firing a Beretta 9mm and you would think I was firing a cannon compared to his gun. I spent a couple of hours after the range cleaning and polishing with Mothers Mag polish...wow..shined up like Nickel and looks absolutley fantastic- you can seee you reflection in it. I also got some Thai Rosewood grips for it off Ebay and boy does this thing look sweet....I mean sweet! I never plan on getting rid of it and will probably pass it down to the next generation. Buds service was great, I love how they send you emails every step of the way- just bought a 5906 9mm and happy with that too. If they ever get the 686 back in stock buy it.

I love this gun. Very accurate. Easy to shoot. Heavy barrel lug. With hot ammo It recoils and sounds 's like a small cannon, but you can shoot all day and experience no hand pain. Ruger and Taurus make good 357's, but IMHO they can't compare to this S&W's trigger. Also, if you've never bought from Bud's Gun Shop before, I can vouch for them. I've purchased several guns from Bud's and it was always a good experience. Plus no one can beat their prices.

Excellent revolver. Nothing is better than the smooth-as-silk double-action trigger for which S&W is famous. Dead on out the box with Barnes VOR-TX 357 Mag 140 grain XPB hollow points, but shot low when using Remington 38 Special +P 125 grain JSHP. The balance and weight of the L- frame reduced the felt recoil of these rounds to next to nothing. I am glad that I trade my Taurus M82 38 Special +P, which had a long, gritty trigger pull and greater felt recoil when using the Remington round, for this gun. Yes, the S&W was more expensive than the Taurus, but it well worth it.
