Great carry gun. I have hundreds of rounds through it with zero issues. Laergrips were on from the factory. Bud's was great as usual.

Very pleased with my purchase experience on Buds. In the military I carried and learned to operate a verity firearms but this is my first pistol purchase. This revolver is a marvel of engineering... so compact, light and yet powerful. I've put 100 rounds of 38 special and 50 rounds of 357 magnum through it and experienced no failures. The trigger pull is quite heavy and will take some getting used to. That said I have no complaints about the gun. But I do have a couple of other gripes one, the gun came in a card board box. Seriously, S&W... cheese comes in card board boxes, not guns. I don't care if it does only weigh 13 ounces. Charge a few bucks if you have to and provide an appropriate container. Second, the Crimson Trace is calibrated at 25 feet out of the box. That seems kind of far for a small self defense revolver.

I ordered this lightweight (13 ounces) revolver for concealed carry and it excels in that role. The laser was easy to align with the sights and point of impact. It is very bright even in sunlight. The fit and finish are excellent and should make S&W proud. The grips are very small, but it is easy to grip and fire. The only downside I see to this revolver is the heavy felt recoil while shooting .357 mags. It is hard to hold it tight enough to not get your trigger finger smacked under recoil. If the grips were bigger I doubt this would be a problem. I'm sure it will be shot at the range with much more .38 Special ammo than with .357 mag. Bud's service was fantastic as always.

The only drawback to this product, which didn't come as a surprise but nonetheless is worth observing is that the light weight when combined with 357 rounds is hard on the trigger finger. Almost impossible to hold firmly enough to prevent some torquing and scrap/strain on that region.

Absolutely amazing gun but HOLY COW does it have a HEAVY trigger. I purchased a new spring kit from APEX Tactical Solutions for $30 (including special tool for return spring installation) which I will install this weekend. I would also suggest removing the lock as S&W says it has a 1 in 500 failure rate. This can cause BIG problems if the lock accidently engages when using heavy .357 ammo in a self-defense situation. Google how to do it. This gun is the PERFECT pocket carry gun, but it is NOT a small ladies gun or a gun for an inexperienced shooter. It shoots .38 special fairly easily. Most home defense rounds are in .38 Special +P. This may likely be too much for an inexperienced shooter. .357 rounds are PUNISHING out of this gun. I would not expect to shoot these except in a carry situation. Definitely not for fun at the range. Many people purchase this gun with the expectation to have a fun range gun just to return it later. I liken this to buying a Jeep Wrangler. MANY people complain about it because it doesn't get good gas mileage or doesn't have as much power that people want when they pass at highway speeds. People that buy it for its intended use (off-roading) are exceptionally pleased with it. Same for this gun. It is no light shooting ladies gun for long days of plinking at the range. It IS a hardcore thumping self-defense monster that is easily concealable in your front pocket.

Bought this as a back up for my Kimber Custom CDP II. I carry this in an Alessi Ankle Rig and don't even know it's there! I've had it for about two years. I've also tried pocket carry but the ankle rig frees up the pocket that I dearly missed. The pocket holster was a bit bulky for my liking as well. For those that haven't shot the super light J-frames before, this is not a "cute little gun to buy for the wife". They are an experts gun. Very stout recoil by most standards and difficult to shoot accurately without lots of practice on control of the heavy double action trigger and short sight radius. I suggest lots of dry fire at home and live fire at the range. Many buy these and find they are a hand full and end up carrying a lot but rarely shoot them. Not a good idea for a gun that may be needed to save your life! Buy this gun and practice, practice, practice! For those who understand what they are buying this is an excellent choice! Nice to have such a capable caliber in such a lightweight and concealable package!
