My favorite gun? POssibly. I'm an enthusiast but not military or police; i just like guns and shoot at a range to keep sharp. I carry a .380 backup and have a number of 9's, 40's, and 45's. I never shot a .22 but thought it would be worth doing to keep ammo costs down. It was between this and a Sig Mosquito. My local gun shopt recommended this. Was about $400 locally. Price here is much better...I just bought 2 at $600 total. I love it. It is crisp, cool lines, very ergonomic, delightful trigger, comes with 2 mags and larger grip, easy to strip and maintain, super accurate. I liked it so much I bought my 20 year old son one. And I liked it so much I bought my wife one (with the purple slide, of course...). I did upgrade the guide rod to a steel one I bought on line, but had no problems with it. It has never once failed to fire or eject or feed. (using Remington bucket o'bullet's 22's). And for those of you big caliber guys there was a research article I read recently that the 3 top calibers used successfully in self defense - e.g. effective at stopping a perp - were a 12 g, 45, and a 22. The reason? Because you can actually control it! So for newbies that i know who ask about a self defense firerarm I may dispense with the revolver v. semi auto, or the .357 v. 45, hollow points v. jacketed v. frangible arguments....and tell them to get a .22, esp. if they are concerned about recoil and control. Fabulous gun.

while trying to buy a hand gun from gander mountain , thanks to the rudeness of the sales associate trying to talk me into spending more than i wanted , another customer told me about buds gun shop . after perusing their hand guns for over a week while watching youtube reviews of the guns , i decided to purchase the sr 22 . i am so happy with this gun . i was not able to shoot it until 3 days after receiving it , but when i did i could not stop smiling . im an older lady and did not want something that was going to break my arm when i shot it . the sr22's recoil is almost non existent . i shot almost 3 boxes of ammo at the gun range with my girlfriends and did not have any problems at all with this gun . i was surprised at how well my aim was , all though i will not win any trophies , the majority of my shots were on target . i have not taken the gun apart like on the videos but i did clean it before i shot it and after returning from the range . i am so happy that i found buds gun shop and bought this ruger sr22.

Super little gun and so much fun to shoot. Performs flawlessly with high velocity ammunition. Very accurate with tight grouping. Very smooth trigger action and nice manual safety. I love this and my S&W 9mm Shield as carry pistols. Accuracy and velocity make up for small caliber. Using CCI Stingers or Mini Mags, this is a very good concealed carry weapon.

I've shot hundreds of rounds of different brands of ammo through this gun without any problems. Accuracy is O.K., brake down and cleaning is easy.

This is a great little gun. I have just got through a brick of ammo, and it fires perfect. The only problem I have had is the 2 mags. were shipped put together backwards. This caused it not to let the slide lock back on the last shot. No big deal just had to take them apart and put them together like the manual shows. The only ammo that it will give you problems is the winchester 222,333,555 packs. My friend got 3 333 packs and mine and his sr22 will not at all cycle them. They will even get stuck in the chamber. Hope it is just a bad lot. Buds was great as usual. As was the FFL. The only thing I have to snivel about is this new make offer. Just offer the best low price. If I want to haggle I will just go on a gun auction site. No big deal.
