It\'s a beautiful weapon and good customer service. My only complaint is that the trigger pull was very bad. I had to completely rework it. Although when I discover a flaw in the stock and called customer service they were very cooperative and just sent me a replacement on the spot. I\'m sure they would have dealt with the trigger in the same manner if I had sent the weapon back.

I wanted a field gun with a more potent round than my Marlin 336 in 30-30, so I opted for this. I'm very happy with the choice. The working parts and accuracy are definitely up-to-the-task in that I'm getting 2 MOA with iron sights. The weight and "maneuverability" are perfect for my purpose - an in-the-brush and saddle gun with the power to take down the largest animal with authority. Initially, I was a little disappointed with the stock as it can't possibly compare with my 336's walnut look and feel. But then, it has an advantage over the walnut in that it's essentially waterproof synthetic. As a field gun, I'll take that every day of the week. In reading the reviews, I see people complaining about lack of quality and parts falling off but I've seen none of that. Maybe Marlin fixed their process, or maybe those errors were flukes, but this is a well-made and accurate gun for a decent price. I'd buy it again. Oh, and if you haven't ever fired a 45-70 from a (relatively) short barreled gun, you're in for a surprise - it's got quite the flash and kick. I've had more than one person on the range ask me, "What the heck are you shooting?!"

As always Buds was great to work with. This is my third or forth purchase and as always I had zero problems. They even priced matched for which is always nice. I was hesitant to make the purchase online since I have heard many complaints about Marlins quality going down since they were bought by Remington. I have seen this first hand in store with bad fit and finish on the stock and crooked sights. This rifle was perfect though. I'm sure my wife is glad we don't live near a Bud's outlet or I would need a larger safe.

Quick service from buds again. Great price. Gun seems to be good quality. Marlin is doing a great job of pushing out great guns again. Very happy I made this my first 45/70. Can't wait to put some extras on it!!!

Good looking rifle ,smooth action. I haven't shot it yet but looks like a keeper. Smooth transaction from Buds as usual. I've read other reviews where other people have complained about the quality going down since Remington took over Marlin several years back. However, that does not seem to be the case any longer. Can't wait to get out and shoot it.
