I have been looking at the newer 1911's for a while now. Finally decided I was going to get one, and only a Colt would do. I was not disappointed with my decision. Great price from Bud's. Delivered timely and in perfect condition. This firearm is a dream come true. Good looking, low felt recoil, and accurate at 50 yards right out of the box! If you have been thinking about a .45 but were concerned with weight or recoil, don't hesitate. You will love this gun. Everyone should own a 1911, especially a Colt!

There is no way to give a better review than WOW. Went to the range, and this is the most accurate pistol I own. I shared this with friends at the range, and they had the same response. Colt did a great job on this one.

I love the Colt 1911 I bought from Bud's. It is exactly what I wanted! The merchandise arrived sooner than I expected and the transfer occurred without a hitch. I will never hesitate to use Bud's for further purchases in the future.

I have had this pistol for almost a month now and I am well pleased with it. I purchased this firearm because\'s a Colt 1911, and for personal reasons the one hand gun I just had to own. I am by no means qualified to nit pick every aspect of this gun, but I would like to give my opinion in a few areas. First the finish. I have an attraction to walnut stocks and deep blued finishes. The rosewood grips look nice and to me are comparable to walnut. I was slightly displeased with the matte black finish on the rounded edges of the firearm, I would have preferred a solid blued finish, however only the flat surfaces of the slide and frame had the shine like I expect from a blued finish. All in all I got passed it. I had read so many reviews on the series 80 firing system prior to my purchase that I was about to go crazy. \"It\'s terrible\", \"It\'s only a slight difference\", \"It\'s no match trigger but far good enough for every day carry\", etc... I was about to go crazy. In a prior attempt to fill my longing for a 1911, when cash was tight, I had purchased a Taurus. It had the firing pin block and still had a very light crisp trigger pull to be factory. (I have shot many guns in my life with both after market and custom triggers, and would say I know the difference. A good trigger is a must have for me.) With this I finally decided all the critics of this trigger system were just splitting hairs and needing something to complain about. However, after firing my first few magazines I was horrified. It was TERRIBLE. It had such a heavy trigger pull it was sickening. As much as I wanted to love it I was mortified with how stiff the trigger was. It felt twice as heavy as even my duty issued Glock, and no where near as light as the Taurus 1911. I went through the first 100 rounds in pure anger. Much to my relief though I could feel it getting better as I kept shooting. After 200 rounds of live ammo and probably close, if not more than that, of dry firing with snap caps (due to ammo prices) I am happy to say it has gotten much better and feels like a single action firearm should. Just as light as the Taurus with even less creep and over travel, very crisp. Now I can go back to being the proud owner of a Colt and enjoy every aspect of it. I just wanted to share this in case anyone else has experienced this or is going through the same thing. I can only assume mine only required a little breaking in.
