I have a number of Springfield guns, overall I have been happy with the quality of the firearms until I paid over 1K for this EMP 3\" 9MM 1911. When I picked up the gun from my local FFL I noticed that the slide stuck a little but I thought it was because it was test fired and not cleaned (big mistake). I took it home and broke it down to clean and I noticed that the serial number on the slide didn\'t match the frame, in fact someone had etched the last 3 digits of the frame on the slide to look like it was a match!? I was sold a PARTS GUN. The slide stuck and didn\'t travel all the way back to engage the thumb safety. So I called Springfield the next day and they stated that it wasn\'t important that the two serial numbers matched? I sent it in for repair, 4 weeks later I got it back; they replaced the barrel, ejector pin, adjusted the extractor pinned the ejector, repaired the recoil system and refit the slide and barrel. Mind you this is a \"new\" gun I had not fired it yet? The slide still stuck. I took it to the range that weekend, and it did eat up 115 gain factory loads OK, didn\'t like my reloads though. Overall I am very disappointed in Springfield selling as new a parts gun. The reviews were good and it looked to be a possible choice for a CCW gun.

Great purchase experience during high XMAS season from Buds. The gun is what I wanted, a short barreled 9mm in a 1911 configuration. The quality of the fit and finish is just excellent, and it shoots like a charm, despite its 3 inch barrel. A great buy, but I just wish it were less expensive. But there its is, I don't regret it, even at the current price. Just don't use re-manufactured ammo.

The product was exactly as advertised and available at what I consider to be and excellent price. The fit and finish are beautiful and the weapons function flawless.
