This was my first purchase of a handgun and the process with Bud's was extremely easy and quick. I had been looking at a number of 1911 .22s for several months and finally landed on the Umarex/Colt Rail. It was a birthday present to myself and I don't think I could have made a better choice. I have had it for three months now and absolutely love it! I have only about 500 rounds through it with bulk Federal and CCI but not a single FTF or FTE with either ammunition. The fit in the hand is perfect and the checked grips make for secure handling. I wish it had an elevation adjustable rear sight but I plan to get a laser sight and attach it to the rail so it is not a big issue.

Unfortunately my experience with this pistol was completely different than the other reviewers here. The gun ran CCI ammo OK, but Winchester and Federal would FTE over 50% of the time. And the magazine also had an issue. When the mag was inserted into the grip, the top round would kick up at an angle, and would jam against the top outside rim of the chamber when the slide was released. This would happen consistently with the mag being inserted with a reasonable amount of force, and I've never had this happen with any other .22 I've ever fired. To avoid this, the mag had to be loaded very delicately with minimal force every time, which takes a lot of the fun out of shooting and renders the pistol essentially useless for training. I sent the mag back to Umarex and asked for a new one (even emailed them pictures of the cocked round in the mag). After a month with about a dozen emails and 2 phone calls, I called a 3rd time and was told "oops, we sent your mag to the wrong customer." They sent it out again, without even an apology for their error and the excessive delays. And of course the new mag was just as bad as the original. I tried using the gun for a few more months and finally got tired of all the FTEs. Considered sending the gun itself back to Umarex, but didn't want to deal with their customer service again. Sold it for $150 less than I paid for it, and bought an M&P 22. The only positives I can mention are the pistol has a beautiful finish, has a rail system (which I like to have on all my pistols) while still having a nice sleek streamlined look, and is very accurate (when it doesn't jam). I'll therefore rate it 2 stars instead of 1, which is being generous.

I purchased my first hand gun from Bud's, the Umarex Colt 1911 rail gun and I love, love it! I only put about 120 rounds of Remington .22 ammo through it (I hear that is not the best ammo), but the gun fired just fine, I had no FTF or FTE etc. This gun is made by Walther, they have a fine reputation and I see why, the gun feels and looks great. The fit and and finish was perfect out of the box for the exception of some oil, but that is expected and for $400 bucks you get allot of quality. I think I'll change out the black plastic grips (which feel great btw) with Mahogany wood grips, being a woodworker, I love that look. One thing I don't see too much about gun reviews is how they break down for cleaning. This gun is a breeze to breakdown and clean, granted I did not take it ALL the way down, just enough to clean it. I can't comment on the accuracy, I'm too new to shooting, my target was too far away and I didn't retrieve when finished for the day, but from the other reviews, it shoots as straight as you do. This is my first gun purchase from Bud's, I have no complaints to share, it arrived at my FFL within 7-10 days like promised and I hear good things from their customer service. My only gripe is that I was not expecting the $25 transfer fee paid to the FFL. I'm not begrudging anyone from making a buck, I likely missed the fee at check out or assumed it was in the purchase price, but I was surprised when asked for the money, so keep that in mind. All in all, I'm another happy Bud's customer, thank you!

This is a great pistol, incredibly fun to shoot. I was absolutely stunned by how accurate it was right out of the hard case; I was shooting ~2.5 - 2.0" groups at about 15 yards the first time I used it, and I'm no competitive shooter. I don't think I'm even going to have to adjust the sights. The gun has great solidity and "heft" about it; it really does feel like a "real" .45 ACP 1911. Something to be aware of that's a mild annoyance on this firearm (and really this is just endemic to all 1911 style guns chambered for .22 LR) is that you can't dry fire it or you risk breaking the firing pin. Thus, every single time you rack the slide (safety checking it, cleaning it, whatever), you must manually lower the hammer. Due to the grip safety, this requires crossing your other hand over the hammer and gently lowering it while you squeeze the trigger. This is a very, very minor issue, but just be aware of it if you're someone who likes to sit there compulsively racking and dry firing your pistols while watching TV or something. On that note, the slide racks nice and smooth, there's no "slop" or play on mine. The trigger pulls nice and crisp as well, with no grittiness or jerkiness. I've been feeding it Remington Golden Bullet and Remington Target ammo like it's going out of style and thus far no failures whatsoever. My sole complaint (and it's really not even an issue with the gun itself) is that it comes absolutely DRENCHED in oil, including the magazine, and it's a bit of a PITA to get it all cleaned up and ready to go. Once that's done though, you're in for a treat. Stay safe.

I just picked up my gun today from the local dealer. I was impressed with the quality and condition of the weapon. it feels like a "real" 1911, not a cheap knock off like some other .22's. I didnt have alot of time, but i did get to stop and shoot about 50 rounds. the gun functioned great (keep your thumb off the slide) and the accuracy was just what i hoped for. i placed a tight group just under my bullseye (about 3/4 in low) with all 50 rounds. I am an experienced shooter and i was praying that this gun would live up to my expectations. IT DID. i think this was a solid purchase, i am very happy (with buds customer service and fast shipping also). I shot federal bulk and cci stingers, both worked great in this gun. I found extra mags just like the one that came with the gun, the gun only comes witth one mag, so you may want to consider ordering a spare or two. i look forward to the thousands of rounds and many many hours i will enjoy shooting this great gun. I am already planning on using it this weekend in a steel challenge match. u tube has an awesome review on this gun posted by aussie something or other. check it out, that review and buds price sold me, this is the perfect plinker, trainer, all around fun gun. you wont be disapointed.

Jam up gun. Very very pleased. The grips came dark black unlike the pic on the site which is what I preferred anyway. Gun only comes with one clip which isn't Buds fault. The umarex website is always sold out of magazines but I found them on eBay. This is a great, accurate gun but I think Umarex puts a bad taste in the customers mouth by including only one clip. My first purchase from Buds and it went very well. No complaints. I just bought a Ruger SR22 for the wife from them also because this transaction went smooth.

So far I'm pretty happy with this weapon! It has a decent feel, good balance as well! I was a little concerned about how light the slide felt but it's smooth as glass on the range, I'm thinking about buying another for the ol lady to plink & carry. This was a solid purchase!

I recommned this .22 1911. No jams so far and I put about 300 rounds through it. Fun to shoot and its just a great looking gun. No issues with Buds delivery.

This is my first firearm purchase from Budsgunshop and I must say, I'm very impressed. The handgun was in my hands 3 days after the order. Very fast work on their behalf and I'm very satisfied with their customer service. Off to the 1911 now. The 1911 was covered in oil, once I got all of the oil off, there she was. She's a true beaut, and it literally is a 1911, just in .22LR. Everything about it is perfect. I have yet to fire it but I can already tell she's a keeper. I just wish it would have shipped with more than just ONE magazine. I'm very satisfied with my purchase and I can't wait to take it to the range on Sunday. I'm excited. Now I just need to find magazines online as everyone is sold out and Umarex has them for 42 dollars before tax. Pshh! Yeah, right. They can kiss my butt. If there's anything that bothered me with this purchase besides the one magazine thing is that the gun does have a few, minor spots where it seems chipped. Hardly noticeable, though. I'm just very picky and knowing this, you should trust me and purchase this sweet handgun. Nothing in its category can even compare. Now all I need is 4 more mags and a Surefire X400. :)

Great little pistol. Feels just like full size 1911 minus the weight. Decent trigger but i'm sure with a little polish it will be great. Will buy another soon

I LOVE my Umarex_Walther_Colt 1911 .22! I can not believe how slick this sucker is. It felt great and when compared to my springfield service 1911 .45 it feels just like it, with the exception of the light slide as mentioned in other reviews. I took it to the range today and was shooting at 26ft and was consistently hitting the bullseye. I was very skeptical about this buy since it was in the "other handguns" section, but I really wanted a target .22 for shooting matches and boy did I get it! shot 200+ rounds of dirty Remington .22 bulk ammo and not once had a FTF or FTE. I LOVE this gun! Trigger is very crisp, easy to load, fit and finish of gun is beautiful! I could literally go on and on for hours... BUY THIS GUN!

Got the handgun in great condition, has no issues with it. Its a great model of a 1911, (obviously) looks like a tactical 1911 and feels just like the 45 1911 (weight and grip). Well made hand gun. Have had no issues with it at the range using cci mini-mags and/or cci stingers. Definatly recommend

Great Pistol!!! Built soild, looks and feels just like a real 1911 .45 acp. I've fired over 500 rds of Federal Bulk ammo and not 1 FTF or FTE. Accurate and a blast to shoot. I highly reccomend this pistol if your looking for a good quality 22LR semi-automatic.

I received this pistol one week ago and I have already shot 1000 rounds. At first i wasn't a huge fan of this pistol just because the slide felt gritty, but after some breaking in its pretty smooth. Very little play in the slide. A strange thing about this firearm, the bottom receiver is full steel like a regular 1911, but the slide is aluminum alloy which makes sense for a .22lr. I have shot both top quality ammo and low quality bulk ammo and ive had some bad luck with the bulk ammo, several stove pipes, FTF, and had a failure to eject. Never had a single hiccup with CCI though. While the bulk ammunition isn't really reliable, it is definitely doable. One thing I can say if you buy this pistol, be careful raking the slide, the combination of a light weight slide and a light spring makes it really easy to pull back so don't go thinking its as stiff as a regular 1911. After about 500 rounds I really started to get the hang of the is weapon, very accurate and just really fun to shoot so I think overall i would give this handgun 4.5 stars.

This gun is fantastic, well made, nice finish, weight is excellent and it eats everything I have fed it. Bud's however I am upset with. I have made many purchases through them and have noticed a definate downturn on the speed of service received. Many other friends that I have turned to Bud's have agreed and all of us are upset with the VIP program now introduced. It says to us that even though we have spent a lot of money through Bud's, we now have to pay extra to be considered important and receive the service we have come to expect. This VIP program has lost Bud's several orders from me in the just past month, as well as several other orders from friends. This is a trend that will continue.
