This is the 1911 I needed to try and it is very good, it works well and the most important for me with the 1911 is the large grip because it fits my hand where other 1911s are to small, it is good and solid gun. The best thing it is metal not plastic.

I am a fan of Rock Island 1911'S. This A2 was the first one I ever had any dealings with. It shoots good and dependably. I did not like the trigger, so I did a job on it. It wasn't that particular gun, I just don't care for service type triggers. The gun is a lot of 1911 for the price.

Great gun for the price. Magazine spring was bad and was replaced with a para ordinance magazine spring from the gun is accrurate and feeds flawless after the magazine spring was replaced

This was my first pistol purchase ever and BUDS is top notch to deal with. I didnt want to spend $1k on my first gun and i liked the feel of a 1911 .45. so far I love this gun shot 1000s of rounds through the stock mag without any problem at all "knock on wood" have only used Tulammo in it and a few Critical Defense, Dead on accuracy. My local shop had the single stack for 399 but its worth it to me the extra 50 as I am just getting into shooting and like the 14rds. The only issue i faced was that I was told you can replace the plug with a .45 shell may work and look cool for other guns but with the tula shell the spring jammed and jammed the slide half open, quickly removed and put the stock plug back in and no worries since. I was thinking of purchasing a higher end 1911 down the line but until this 1 lets me down its my weapon of choice. Thanks again Buds

Bud's notified me when this pistol recently returned to stock. Kudos to Bud's on the notification, shipping and the timely updates of my order throughout the process until delivery at my dealer. I took it to the range. Both the mag that came with it and the aftermarket MecGar failed repeatedly. The issue mag jammed on the 2nd round consistently and the Mecgar mangled and failed to feed the last round leaving it loose and the slide locked to the rear. Like the round popped out and up as the slide tried to close. The appearance of the pistol is excellent except for the empty circle or hole mid way in the grip. Maybe I should shave down a dime and insert it. Once I get the magazine failures straightened out, I believe it will shoot well. As far as accuracy, I could down some one at Combat Range of 7 yards providing it is my first shot with the issue and not the last shot with MecGar!

This is one great deal. The RIA 1911 A2 is a solid piece with better than average fit and finish. I purchase 4 MecGar mags which seem to be about the best of the very few 14 rd mags out there. I haven't had a chance to get to the range yet but based on other RIA 1911's I expect it to be reasonably accurate. The only drawback for me is the plastic grips. It seems no one is making custom grips for this double stack pistol. This was my first purchase from Bud's, but it wont be my last. Dealing with them was a pleasure. Once my check had cleared, I had my pistol in two days. If you're in a hurry, I'd suggest paying just a couple dollars more and pay by credit card.
