Not my first R1. I have had the standard, enhanced and stainless models and for some unknown reason traded or sold them. This one I am going to keep. The Remington R1 is in a class up there with Colt and Kimbers. Out of the box no failures and actually target ready. Well balanced, and, being a 1911, just fits right.

This is the 3rd Remington R1 In my collection. Quality piece! There is NO REASON to spend over a thousand bucks for the Kimbers and Sig's out there. Besides, a Kimber or Sig "1911" with a picatinny rai is not a 1911, its a heavy glock. This Rem is a true 1911... These Rems are built tight and shoot straight. If you want a real 1911 with the classic looks and feel, look no further than Remington. As far as Buds goes... Getting the gun shipped was just a bit slow, but not too bad. I will be buying from Buds again! Thank You!

I looked at several 1911's before making a decision to buy. I was looking for the "Most gun for the money". I just received a few days ago and was not disappointed. I haven't fired it yet but fit and finish are great and the function check was good. Hope to take it to the range this weekend. I would recommend it others.

I forgot how much I love a 45 acp hole in the target especially when your dad is shooting a 9mm at the same one. This gun is a great gun that shoots big bullets that cost the same as 9mm right now. The trigger is not gritty. I didn't even clean it before shooting it at the farm. So the grip safety has to be depressed to shoot, isn't that what a grip safety is for? For a little over $600 you get an all steel made in America Remington 1911. I did order the grips with the "R" on them too and they really look sharp.

Haven't shot it yet but the overall quality looks good..Biggest problem is gritty trigger action..I hope it improves as it is used. or I'll have to have it worked on.Also, the grip safety has to be fully depressed to enable firing....I have a Taurus 1911 and it is overall a better gun for the money than the Remington
