I ordered this on a Wednesday and picked it up on the following Friday. That's fast. The rifle is great-only one complaint. Taking it to the range is like a woman with a new baby. Everyone wants to hold it. Seriously, no complaints.

M 1 A Rifle arrived at my FFL. went to pick it up, when Lou opened up the box and took it out, we were both in love with it, the wood stock was beautiful the wood grain was great. most of the stocks I saw were just a dark plain wood with no grain look to it. the rest of the rifle was just as nice. Springfield Armory did it good with this one. Buds shipped it fast and safe. this is one of the many Firearms that I bought from Buds. I will buy again and again. thanks Buds

What can I say - this rifle is superb. Finish and operation are perfect. Have wanted one of these for years and Bud's was able to get them in stock. No one beats Bud's price or service.

I picked up my M1A Loaded model at my local FFL on Saturday. OH MY - this is an absolute work of art. Walnut stock is GORGEOUS. Balance is perfect. The action is extremely tight. Weapon will need to be properly cleaned and oiled prior to taking to range next week. Rifle came with a single 10 round steel magazine. Inserting the magazine in the new rifle takes a bit of practice to get right. For those unfamiliar with the M14 / M1A platform, the front of the magazine needs to hook on a pin inside the magazine well and then is "tipped" into place -more akin to an AK than an AR. This is NOT a bad thing, just different than what I expected. Rifle did NOT come with a sling or a cleaning kit -both can be purchased separately (although I think Springfield should supply one). Trigger (again, I have not yet taken this rifle to the range) is EXCEPTIONAL -clean and crisp with very little excess take up. There is almost no movement after it breaks, I can't wait to get this to the range. I am EXTREMELY HAPPY with this rifle. Great price from Bud's, super fast delivery, and a SPECTACULAR rifle.

Everyone needs to own an M1A. Buds had this in stock and I wasnt sure whether or not to buy it. It went out of stock and I was kicking myself for 3 weeks. I got an e-mail when they got more in and I immedietly put one on layaway. Got to my FFL super quick and buds service was top notch as usual. My reccomendation to everyone who buys this is to immedietly swap out the stamped op rod guide for the Sadlak NM guide. It smooths up the action so much and makes it a tad more accurate. Gun was shooting .8-.9 MOA with handloads. Operation is super smooth and hardly has any recoil. I only have around 120 rounds down the pipe but its my new favorite rifle!! Buy CMI mags for it, they are half the price of the springfields and work incredibly. The M1A feels so natural and balanced. I watched a video by nutnfancy on youtube and he said that the best bang for the buck was the loaded so thats what I set out to get. The trigger is awesome and breaks real clean at aroun 4.5-5 lbs. The NM sights are also a plus becuase you can get a more precise view of the target. The NM sights are not ideal in low light conditions because of the tiny aperture. Scoping is very easy. I put a Sadlak aluminum mount on because I didnt have the cash for the steel one. It is rock solid and easy to instal if you can follow directions and have a bit of patience. The glass I have on it is a Nikon prostaff 4-12 with the nikoplex reticle. Im thinking of swappping it for a Nikon Buckmaster 4-16 becuase of the turrets (and higher magnification). In short, buy this gun. You will not be dissapointed. I was debating whether to get the M1A or an AR 10 and I am so happy I went with an M1A. It has a certain balance and feel to it that is not matched by the AR platform (sorry eugene!) Is the AR 10 more accurate? Yes. I dont care what handloads you use in an M1A, but a free floated AR 10 will always be CONSISTENTLY more accurate than an M1A. How much is that difference? I dont know. Depends on a ton of factors, but my M1A is consistently a 1-1.5 MOA gun. I have a couple really good days at the range where its .8-.9 but its usually in that 1-1.5 range. Im not a bench rest shooter. I was taught to shoot for "combat accuracy". I do not care if all the rounds form a clover leaf on the target. The M1A will not dissapoint you for combat accuracy. If you want a gun that will put a hole in another hole at 100 yds, then you should probably considered a bolt action. BUY AN M1A!!!
