absolutely terrible these things, fail to fire , fail to battery , fail to eject , bolt will not close all the way after charging. I guess im going to have to send it back to century.

Terrible purchase. I've purchased quite a few guns from Buds and always been happy. The price on this CETME was too good to be true...and true to form, you get what you pay for. The gun was surplus stock, so I ignored the cosmetic dings and scratches when I picked it up at the FFL. No big deal. When I was finally able to locate some ammo a month later, I took it to the range. Everything inside the chamber of this rifle is wrong. Won't feed, won't cycle, won't eject. Even when loading a single round, it won't fire. The trigger hangs up before it breaks (almost like the safety is on except it has a little creep). Contacting the manufacturer this afternoon to see if I have any recourse. I know Bud's policy and I shouldn't have left the FFL with it, but none of the problems were detectable without taking it to the range (i.e., it dry cycles just fine). Basically, I have a $600 club or paperweight. Other reviews state the quality of this rifle is hit or miss. I'd agree and mine definitely is a MISS. There clearly wasn't even so much as a test fire before this one left the refurb factory. A complete waste of money thus far.

Went to the range blew thru 280 rounds flawlessly!!! The only beef I have is Century giveing me H&K soda can mags with it, they worked great but I want Cetme steel mags so I will contact Century and see what I can do as for Buds they are the only Gun Shop that did no screw me over, I put 3 differnt guns on layaway from 3 differnt stores before ths Political Crap, just waitng for inheritance and the 2 local guys sold my guns to make more money off them, So many thanks to Buds didnt change the price and had the Gun set aside like they said, You have a customer for life Buds!!!

My CETME's are now my most favorite Rifles in my collection! They have opened my eyes to a whole great bunch of new accessories also! HK everything for G3's just bolts right on as with the inexpensive mags that are still available for less than $10 for steel and even less for aluminum original HK G3 Mags which is what the Rifle comes with which looked brand new. One coming from 1964 and the other from 84 I believe? I haven't shot mine a lot yet as per the ammo shortage but the box I ran through ran through perfectly and I have to say this is the smoothest shooting High Powered Rifle I have ever shot. Recoil is nothing. Buds Rocks As Always And Shipping Was Fast And Right. I give them a 10 and the Cetme Battle Rifle 5 stars. Buy I as fast as you can and enjoy!

Received my CETME last week and got a chance to take it to the range today. First off the fit and finish was quite nice...no spotty welds and coating was nice and even. The two mags that came with it looked like they were brand new. Loaded both mags and headed to the range. I had read all the horror stories on the web about CAI quality issues and the ones with the CETME as well. I was a bit nervouse when I racked the first round and pulled the trigger. I was expecting to have a FTE or FTF or something, but nothing of the sort. I went through 60 rounds of .308 ammo, without any issues at all. The last few guns I bought from Century have been winners, maybe they have updated their QC process because I have no complaints. This is now one of my favorites...right up there with my Galil and FAL.

The CETME. Well I got it and the gun looked great. The inside was a little dirtier than I expected but what do you expect. Action operated as it should and was a little stiff. I cleaned it up a bit and left it dry for shooting. Fired great the first 5 or 6 shoots then had double feed. I cleared that and shot it with some oil. After that it did great for about 2 full mags. Then I had a failure to extract. This was probably my fault for not seating the mag all the way. Once this was cleared and the gun heated up a little bit was great. It will throw some lead. Overall I would highly recommend it. I think some of the little quirks people have is because of either the ammo or the mags or operator head-spacing. Great Gun. I was shooting RUAG 145 Grain FMJ's. With H&K aluminum mags. As far as BUDS well what can you say. Fast shipping, good prices, and up to date info on the status. Really love the layaway which helped hide it from the wife.

Rifle was in good condition, obvious it was a rebuild kit with new housing. I got a good one, checked the charging action and bolt carrier for grinding before accepting ffl transfer. Rifle shoots 7.62 nato just fine not 1 malfunction yet. Rifle HATES .308 civilian ammo, tried 4 different brands and the rifle malfunctions bad with all of them. Save yourself money and headache iif you buy this gun order a battle pack or two of military surplus ammo along with it. The magazines that come with them cause jamming if its full load. Try loading 10 instead of 20 and weapon works great. You can get surplus German hk made aluminum mags for a couple bucks each.... go with those they accept full 20 rounds. Had 0 problems with buds, they had the best price I could find and shipped a day or two after payment cleared. Dont be affraid of these guns, I was nervous, but I bet more good rifles come along then bad ones, but who knows?

The rifle arrived in what I would describe as "military surplus" shape similar to what most AKs look like. When I tried to shoot it right out of the box it turned into a bolt action rifle. For some reason the first round would fire and the second round would jam every time. The charging handle would also get stuck halfway and required tons of effort to pull back. I had trouble getting the mags to fit into the receiver as well. I took the rifle home and cleaned the heck out of it. It was really dirty and grimy on the inside, but I managed to get her nice and clean. The second time out I switched to a different magazine. I can say that the rifle ran like a champ. I shot about 80 rounds and zero failures. The shells eject violently and they look terrible for somebody who would want to reload them. The forearm started to "cook" from the heat of the barrel. I knew this would happen because there is no metal inside the forearm. That is just fine because I will pick up an H&K one surplus for cheap. This thing is FUN to shoot and I wish I had another $500 to spend on another one. It is fun to see a pop can go 30 feet straight up in the air. There is hardly any recoil or muzzle climb. All in all I am very happy with this purchase.

I bought this gun form Buds and it never worked out of the box. Bud was excellent in the speed and delivery of the gun, it just a poor quality weapon. I had a ton of jamming problems with the first 308 that was sent to me. The gun would lock up at the range and there was no way to get the bolt back other than to field strip the weapon, which I did at home. After several attempts, and even sending it to a gunsmith, I decided to use the warranty and have CIA send me a new gun. The 2nd gun had another problem.... This time the ejector lever pin would knock itself out of position and cause the round to not eject. This would cause the gun to double load a round because the fired round wouldn't eject. I spent about two month on this gun and a lot of money to get it to work. I took it to the range recently and didn't have a problem shooting two full mag -- Finally! These guns are hit or miss... you get what you pay for with CIA. You’re not going to get BMW quality at Ford prices. I would not purchase another gun from Century, unless you’re willing to take the time to get it right.

RESPONSE BY BUDS: CUSTOMER HAS BOUGHT SEVERAL GUNS FROM US WITHOUT ISSUE OTHER THAN THE TWO FROM CENTURY. WE HAVE HAD SEVERAL SIMILAR COMPLAINTS FROM CUSTOMERS REGARDING CENTURY FIREARMS SO PLEASE BE AWARE AND INSPECT YOUR FIREARM THOROUGHLY BEFORE ACCEPTING TRANSFER. I am very disappointed with this company. This is the second gun that I bought from them, and it will be the last. The gun came with scratches, jammed, etc. I tried 8 different magazines in the firearm to no avail, all James. The gun fails to load properly, and jams after the 3rd round. Do not buy one .

RESPONSE BY BUDS: CUSTOMER TOOK POSSESSION OF THE GUN FROM THE FFL BEFORE EVER CONTACTING US. ALL HE HAD TO DO WAS REFUSE THE TRANSFER AND REQUEST HIS CHOICE OF A FULL REFUND OR NEW REPLACEMENT. ACCEPTING A TRANSFER OF A NEW GUN MAKES IT A USED GUN AND ELIMINATES OUR ABILITY TO RETURN TO THE MANUFACTURER FOR CREDIT. THE CUSTOMER CAN STILL REQUEST WARRANTY REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT DIRECT FROM THE MANUFACTURER. Received the firearm in poor condition. no bayonet and no compensator. scratches all over and it was fired before, far from excellent condition. piece of junk. stay away from it. i called bud's the next morning and he said there is nothing they will do for me. DO NOT BUY FROM BUD'S! if you want missing parts, dirty guns and rude service, by all means , oredr one from bud's.

Received the firearm in excellent condition. I took it to the range with 60 rounds of Brown Bear in the magazines, another 100 or so in boxes. I prefer the surplus aluminum G3 mags which can be had at around $1 each (you'll probably yield 9 for every 10 you buy at that price, but what the heck!). The rifle performed flawlessly with either the G3 or the included steel CENTME mags. Too much fun. Ended up going through all the ammo I brought when I took it out for its maiden voyage; I could not help myself. Sleek rifle with good quality composite furniture. I found the accuracy to be very good (more a limit of my talent than a limit on the rifle) with the open sights. I had laser-bore sighted the rifle, as delivered the sights were a touch low and to the left, but it put it where I was aiming at 50 yards (range limit). The hand guard does get a bit hot; the surplus G3 hand guards are drop-in replacements and include an extra sheet metal heat reflector, so your mitts don't get so hot when you're running through those 20 round mags. This rifle is a great deal, and offers serious .308 firepower at an excellent price. Buds, as always, did a good job of keeping me informed on the shipment, and my local FFL only charged $25 to take delivery. Buds was recommended by some friends, and I have done the same to others.
