Great shotgun. After a few tubes it cycles great. Bought the 20" to help with short range clay work. All I need in a shotgun!

I bought this shotgun after selling my Winchester 1300 Defender 20ga. The Mossberg 500 is an awesome shotgun and Buds Gun Shop is awesome to deal with. I started looking at prices in my local area and Buds beat them everytime. The Mossberg 500 feels good in the shoulder and feels a bit leighter then my 20ga did. If your looking for well built shotgun at a greart price stop looking and buy this Moosberg 500. The gun is smooth in cycling and I like where the safty is located and the action release as well. They are all very easy to hit when needed. I have a bigger review at www.survivalistboards.com and I will be adding a range report soon to it. Thanks Buds for the prices and great service.

I have an older model with a walnut stock. Bought it used as an ex-police trade in. Comparable in performance to a Remington 870, the Mossberg 500's fit and finish isn't quite as nice but it is a good deal cheaper. It's been a solid performer. It cycles as smooth as butter and has never jammed. The spread pattern is what you would expect from a cylynder bore riot gun, but with the 20 inch barrel mine doesn't do too bad at the trap range. My father tried mine out and liked it so much that he traded in his old Ithaca on one. I've got nothing but respect for the Remmy 870, but this gun is definately worth a look if you're in the market for a solid home defense shotgun. I'm very pleased with mine.
