Huge thumbs down on this gun. Never shot better than 4-5" groups at 100 yards (with good optics, not the cheap red dot). After 200 rounds i discovered the upper was cracked, which may have happened immediately and caused the inaccuracy. The sight rail is flimsy and unstable, and the crack on the upper went down into the battery area, which is a major safety concern. I strongly recommend against this gun. Nothing against BUDS, great service from them as always.

The rifle is light, but at a cost. The upper receiver cracked and was damaged after 1,000 rounds being fired through it. The upper/lower receiver are not Mil-Spec, so you cannot interchange parts with Mil-Spec parts. Barrel is good, when used on a Mil-Spec upper receiver. Lower receiver stands up well. Red-Dot sight is very inaccurate. While Bushmaster is a good firearms company, overall, I would not purchase the Carbon-15 again. It's more like a toy, than a firearm.

Had this for a month and it works great. After slight adjustment I was making kill shots on the target at 40 yards no problem using the red dot sight. Took a few shots to adjust to the recoil and I added a forward handle to help and that helped allot, since it did get super hot after a few mags. This is my first 223 and it has been a great experience. My shoulder was a bit sore... Had most experience with 22 versions and the difference is amazing. Lots of fun. I am just a target shooter and this is a great weapon. I hope to upgrade the sight but am Pleased with the deal.

I bought 2 of these rifles. The rifles were both pretty good shooters on my first trip to the range. The only issues I had were with the optics. I had an issue with the optic on one, where even the minimum red dot brightness setting was too bright. On the other, the pic. rail was loose. When I went to tighten the front screw, I found that the hole was stripped. It seems that there is no threaded metal plate or sleeve, but the threads are cut right into the plastic of the upper receiver. Very light weight, nice for my wife & daughter. But, I would not recommend these for and kind of modifications or serious tactical use.
