Purchased this revolver as a good all around sidearm. I wanted something I can have in the home, car, self defense, carring in the back country, hunting side arm, etc. I purchased this to fill most roles. After 1st 150 rds. The double action trigger pull is good and the single action trigger pull breaks clean. The revolver is as accurate as the shooter. I enjoyed shooting various weights of factory .357 and .38 rds. It is a pleasant shooter and recoil is manageable. I would reccommend this gun to anyone. It is a good all around gun. thank you Buds.

This gun is awesome. The GP100 is Heavy Duty and very well made. I only wish that the front sight was not fixed so I could install a colored sight, the Black ramp is a little tough to see.

Flawless transaction through Bud's and my local FFL. Like most others who have held or shot this gun, it is very nicely made with a few rough edges that you have to really look for to notice. It is certainly a good looking gun but more importantly it is sturdy and built like a tank. Cylinder lockup is excellent and the trigger is what you'd expect from a decent revolver. It isn't a colt or smith and wesson but the single action is very nice on this gun. Double action is smooth enough to shoot fast and accurately at close ranges despite the heavy pull, but a trigger job can help that as can firing the gun over time. This gun feels like a brick with the supplied rubber boot grips so I quickly changed them for a pair of compact wooden panel grips. The GP100 shoots 38 specials with very little kick, even the plus Ps. 357 magnums are no problem and you can shoot 125s and 158g full powered magnums all day long in it. I've used everything from 125 to 180g with little discomfort. It's very accurate for a fixed site, short barreled revolver. IMO the slightly longer barrel and weight makes it much easier to hit your target than it is with a 2" J-frame or SP101 (all using 38 wadcutters). ALmost makes me wonder if I should have gotten the 4" barrel but I'm happy enough with this, for now at least.I've never bought a Ruger that I wasn't very happy with, now that I think about it. 5/5 I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a quality, short barreled revolver with an affordable price tag.

I have purchased 3 hand guns from Bud's. I'm surprised some reviewers get their deliveries quickly. My experience is they take their sweet time getting my firearms shipped. Takes over a week to get it out the door then another 3-4 days to get to my dealer. Then with the 10 day CA waiting period it's a 3 week ordeal to get my guns. The Ruger GP 100 is an awesome gun, when I finally received this gun I took it to the mountains and set up a few targets. I admit I'm an inexperienced hand gunner but I was hitting a 2 liter bottle repeatedly at 100' I shot about a 100 rounds of 357 Magnum and 38 specials, and was smiling the whole time. I was surprised how little Kick the Magnum ammo has and the 38 Specials were fun to shoot also. The gun itself is gorgeous, I had watched numerous videos on You Tube and everybody loved this weapon. The trigger takes some effort to pull but I like that, With the hammer cocked back it's like a hair trigger. I luv the Hogue grips and the heft of this weapon. I'm telling you to buy this gun.
