I have about 30 handguns. My Dan Wesson 1911 CCO would be the last one I would ever sell.

I had wanted to own a 1911 for many years. When I decided to purchase one I spent several months looking at different manufacturers, styles, finishes, etc. I originally thought I would be purchasing a Kimber, but after reading a number of reviews realized that I would have to spend additional money with a gunsmith to "tune" the Kimber to where I would really like it. After reading reviews about the Dan Wesson 1911's I realized that even though they were slightly more expensive than the Kimber's that the price difference was worth it because they're already "tuned" coming out of the box. Looking at styles the commander-style slide with the 4.25" barrel with the officer-style grip on the CCO appealed to me because I intended this pistol to be my EDC gun. I was not disappointed. I absolutely love my CCO. It fits together very tightly (not too tight) and the trigger is the best I've ever experienced in any handgun, semi or revolver. The only change I make to my CCO was to have the original thumb safety replaced with an ambidextrous safety (I'm left-handed). I sent it to Dan Wesson to have it done; it took 2-3 months for them to turn it around but was well worth it.

I received this 1911 on Friday and took it to the range on Saturday I'm very impressed with it! I put 50 rounds though it with no problems, and very good accuracy. The frame is lightweight and this makes it an excellent choice for concealed carry. I very highly recommend!!

I recently purchased this Dan Wesson CCO for my new carry pistol and I have put over 100 rounds through it in the first week of owning the pistol. Right away I was experiencing some failure to feed. Im pretty sure the magazines just needed to be broke in more, so I left them full for 4 or 5 days and that seems to have fixed my issues. Since my initial issues I have put 75 rounds through the gun, both fmjs and jhps, with no problems. The gun consistently shoots 3in high. This is a problem for me because it is going to be my primary carry gun after it is broke in. I have contacted Dan Wesson and they told me to send in my slide and they will replace the front sight. I was very happy with the quick response from them and their solution. Overall after a few little hiccups I am very happy with the pistol.

The CCO is a great pistol. Fit and finish is 100%. I have several 1911's that have Ultra and Officer size grips and like the way that they are easily concealed. The Commander slide and barrel make the CCO a little more accurate and quicker to line up the shot. The excellent sights, crisp trigger and high build quality make this a very accurate carry pistol. On the first cleaning I noticed that the slide frame and barrel were all etched with the same serial number telling me they were hand fitted and it shows. I have only had it a few days and only taken it out twice, but the the 450 rounds through it have been problem free. I have several 1911's, one of them is a D.W. VBOB and now the CCO, I have sold a couple of Kimbers (which don't come close to the quality of the D.W.'s) and am going to add a full size D.W. Valor to my collection. For what it is worth, in my opinion, these pistols are worth every penny and then some.

I have Colt, Kimber, Para, Remington, and Sig 1911s. The Dan Wesson is on a higher level. It is simply a firearms work of art. I would not change anything about it, and could not offer anything to improve it.

The Dan Wesson CCO is an officer's size (short) aluminum 70 series frame with a steel Commander size 4 1/4 inch slide. The finish and finish is outstanding. Even with the upper and lower being made of different materials you cannot see a color difference in the finish. Dan Wesson includes a barrel bushing wrench which is good because the fit is so tight you cannot remove it without the wrench. The sights are three dot night sights and it has a match grade barrel. According to Dan Wesson there are no metal injection molding parts installed in this gun. This 1911 has the traditional breakdown. The front strap and main spring housing has a "chain-link" treatment instead of checkering. I was a little concerned about the chain-link treatment but when I shot it I found it had plenty of purchase in the hand. This gun comes with two seven round Check-Mate Industries magazines. When I took the gun to the range I used the Check-Mate as well as two 8 round Springfield Armory magazines and the gun ran without a hiccup. I fired approximately 140 rounds of ball ammo and 10 rounds of Hornady 185 grain flex tip HP. Not one failure to feed or failure to extract. The slide locked back on every empty magazine. The gun ran perfectly. The point of aim is point of impact - the sights are dead on. This is my second 1911. The first being a Springfield Loaded Stainless. The quality and fit of the Dan Wesson is head and shoulders above the Springfield as I would expect it to be. If you are looking for a carry gun give the Dan Wesson CCO some serious consideration. If you purchase it, you will not be sorry.

Best firearm I have ever owned. Accurate, beautiful, and the best conceal carry gun on the market today. This makes my other 1911's look silly.

I own several 1911's, including Kimber's, Sigs, and Springfields, but the Dan Wesson CCO is without any doubt , the best one of all, and I can honestly say that it is worth every penny more that you will spend compare to any production gun out there. The Fit and finish is truly flawless, I took it to the range and it work flawlessly, not a single malfunction, it is amazingly accurate and very well balanced. I can compare this gun to a Wilson combat, or an Ed Brown without any reservations. Bud's gun service was as usual on point and without any issues.

Very well made 1911, great for carry. Fit and finish are excellent, it will make a great carry pistol. Beautiful firearm, the best production 1911 for the money out there, in my opinion.

What can you say about the best .45 ever (in my book). Weight, feel, and balance is just unbelievable. Just found a reason to own just one 45.

Very nice pistol. Fit and finish are excellent. Manual recommends a break-in period, mine did not need one. Shot very reliably and accurately after one cleaning and range trip. It is a keeper and an EDC gun. Fits and feels awesome. Bud's service as always was excellent! Thanks.

Ordered on Sunday night... arrived on Wednesday noon. Can't ask for better than that! Still haven't gone to the range yet, but it looks and feels perfect!

This handgun is amazing. The fit and finish are superb. I have owned Springfield and Colt 1911s and this Dan Wesson is the best out of the box 1911 I have ever encountered.

Gun was ordered 9/30/2010 and shipped 10/6/2010. Not the quickest shipping by any means. Gun arrived in fine shape three days later. On my first range trip several days after I took delivery I used 100 rounds 230 grain ball ammo. The gun prints excellent, tight groups but the groups are 6 1/2" high off point of aim at 25 yards and 4" high from point of aim at 15 yards. Obviously they installed the wrong front sight post - too short. Emailed Dan Wesson and they promptly replied that they are going to make good on it if I send in the slide. I'm good with that and appreciated the quick response from them. Other than this obvious problem the gun is beautifully crafted and finished and extremely tight, which in no way negatively affected reliability. In my opinion the gun is overpriced by about $200.00 for what it is but after all, some of it is hand fitted. Would I buy again ? Yes. Would I recommend the gun ? Yes. Can Bud's Gun Shop do a better job of shipping quicker ? Yes.
