I finally got out to the range today with my brand new Savage 93 in 22 WMR. Before taking it out, I gave it a thorough cleaning and lube, just like I do with my fine competition target rifles. Then I mounted my Nikon 6-18X40 Sidefocus Buckmaster and a bipod. I am sorry to say I am not impressed with the rifle. The first thing I noticed was how loose the magazine is when fully inserted. With no effort, I can rattle it in and our or back and forth. With a bit of ammunition testing I found that my round nosed Federal 40 gr. FMJ will not feed into the chamber, unless I hold the magazine up firmly while operating the bolt. If not held in place by hand, the magazine sits so low in the mag. well that the tip of the bullets are below the chamber mouth and hang up on the lower edge of the chamber mouth when I try to close the bolt. Fortunately I have some Remington 33 gr. Accutip-V. The bullets of those cartridges are pointed enough for them to slide up and into the chamber, without holding on to the magazine. At 50 and 100 yards, I got about the level of accuracy that I would expect from a rifle costing under $250. Any suggestion on what I can do about the magazine, without paying a bunch of $$ to fix the problem?

This was my first transaction with Bud's. Everything went smoothly and I am very pleased with the rifle. Typical Savage. Excellent accuracy and value for money. I expect to do business with Bud's again in the near future.

I received this rifle approximately 3-4 days after ordering. Haven't shot it yet, but he rifle looks good. Top off with a Simmons 22 mag 3x9x32, varmits beware. Another pleasant experience in dealing with Buds. Good deal.

For such a cheap rifle I am really surprised. Mounted a decent scope on it, and off I went. Put a hundred or so rounds thru it playing around one afternoon. The accutrigger is fabulous right out of the box, and needed no adjustment from me. I am now a Savage fan- never thought I would say that as I have shot .22 rilfles from an assortment of Manufacturers for almost 40 years now. The .22 Magnum hits hard for what it is, and is a great squirell/rabbit slayer. For $200 everyone should have one of these.

I just got my new Savage 93 22 magnum. I really like this rifle. Accurate, smooth handling, I can wait to take it out to hunt small game.
