Great Rifle and Very Accurate...

This is my 2nd savage, man I like this .22. The Accutrigger is great. I wish I would have bought my .223 with one. But I put a timmey trigger on it. The gun was clean, I installed the sights, zeroed it in. Its great. We shoot older kimber mod 82’s & Anschutz. This gun with shooting 3 position is just as accurate. Sight adjustment may not be quit as fine as a more expensive sight. But good enough. I do wish the stock was a little bigger & little more weight. Be nice to have the mag go all the way up In the stock. But I think this gun is great. I highly recommend it.

The rifle showed up with a badly gouged and mangled stock, and the front sight mount was off by more than 3/8 inch. I own several Savage rifles, and I was frankly shocked at the condition of this one. It is reasonably accurate, but no where near what an iron sighted Savage should be capable of. .

My son ( now 14) earned NRA youth Expert Medal Dec 2010 and March 2012 NRA Distinguished Expert medal with this gun. Changed stock to Boyd's thumbhole stock (same as fancier Savages) when he started the Distinguished effort, with minor dremel work to clear the rear peep sights and to achieve better cheek weld. He shot roughly 3 Sunday afternoons per month in this effort, (due to school and other activities limiting practice time). Very good and capable gun especially for price.
