Very nice wood, shoots very well, and I look forward to finding out what ammo is best for it. The cheap ammo I used to sight it in shot under an inch at 50 yards. Next time at the range I will test various brands of ammo and plan to have ample time to test it. The only complaint I have is the five round mag that the rifle came wisth would not accept a cartridge due to being bent. A pair of pliers fixed the problem though when I got back to the house. Luckily I had the 10 round mag with me that I purchased with the rifle.

The savage mark ll is one of the most accurate rifles I have ever shot the fit and finish are a good as rifles that cost a lot more put to 100 yards it will hold a half inch group I enjoy shooting it very much

this is a really fun and accurate gun. Got it for squirrel hunting.

I bought this for squirrels and varmints. When I opened the box I was pleasantly surprised! It's a beautiful rifle, I added a Vortex scope and a Buffalo leather sling. Tried several different types of ammo and CCI Stingers out performed. 5 shot groups under a 1/2" at 75 yards (from a bench rest) still pretty impressive and lethal on squirrels and groundhogs.

Overall I’m satisfied with this firearm and would definitely buy it again. If you are looking for an affordable tack driver then this is the one for you, if you put in the work and find out what ammo it likes. It will not group bulk ammo very well, other than Aguila standard velocity. I tested a lot of ammo before I was satisfied with any 50 yd. groups, from RWS down to Rem. Thunderbolts. Mine likes and will shoot CCI Greentag into one ragged hole at that distance though. Good fit and finish for what you pay for it, just don’t expect match grade quality for $300! I couldn’t be more pleased with Bud’s as well, super fast shipping and information sent to my local dealer. A+ rating!

Very nice gun and price.Shot a bunch of CCI CB SHORTS very smooth very accurate.It’s the only bolt action I own,so that and the trigger I’m happy.

Fantastic little rifle. 1/2" groups and under at 100 yards with CCI standard velocity and no wind. The mounts are a bit finicky about the rings that will fit (won't take Burris Signature Zee), but nothing 3 minutes of research online won't help you plan for. I do a lot of precision long range shooting, and wanted a smallbore rifle to practice with, and this really worked out great. An awful lot of gun for the money.

Awesome gun. I tried converting another .22 I had into a distance gun. Couldn't believe it was shooting 5"-6" groups at only 65 yards. I ditched it & went on a quest for a reasonably priced tac driver. Lo & behold I ended up with another Savage. I switched my Simmons 3-9x40 on to this and now it performs like a $200 scope. My 7 year old son was tagging 3" steel at 100 yards repeatedly with this gun, 4 in a row at one point. Incredible. Its heavier than my Savage 30-06 which is due to the wood & bull barrel. Just feels like quality. This thing is my new pride & joy, tons of fun.

A great product, got it in today and got scope, rings and bi-pod mounted. Gun was better looking that the picture posted. Bolt worked very nice. Ran a couple patches through it and give it some oil and cannot wait to shoot it this weekend. BUDS was great, shipping was a little slow, however this was due to the winter storms in the area so over all I am more than satisfied with the product and BUDS. 5 star rating in my book.

Great shooter out of the box. Paired rifle with Nikon 3-9x40 Rimfire scope with DNZ mounts. Set up at 50 yards to dial in scope. Shot five rounds, all touching. Moved out to 75 yards and shot nickel sized group. Second transaction with Buds. No complaints at all....exceptional service.

This rifle is accurate. By using CCI standard 40 gr ammo, to get 1.0" MOA at 100 yards is common. I love this gun. Thanks for Buds quick service.

Received The new Savage in one week from the day it was ordered. During this one week period, I shipped a trade in to Bud's for inspection and still received the new gun in ONE WEEK!!! Fabulous service from Bud's!!! My questions were answered almost instantaneously after emailing them. I have never dealt with a retail establishment that gives this type of service. I am quite happy with the transaction. About the firearm, it seems to be very well made and really looks good. Haven't shot it yet, but will get out soon and give the gun a proper workout. The trigger is really nice with no creep whatsoever. Now I have to decide on a good scope or a good red dot. I really like the laminated stock, nicely done. Try one, I think you will be pleased. And Bud's is the best!

What a fun gun. For little more than 300 you get a gun with excellent fit and finish. Easy to shoot. VERY accurate with a wonderful trigger. The value for this product is second to none.

This is a nice accurate 22 rimfire with most ammo that I fired thru it. Even though it has a heavy barrel its not to much to carry through the woods for squirrels. I like it

I bought one of these from Bud's a few weeks ago. I've been shooting for over 40 years, but this is the first Savage I ever bought. And I'm major impressed. The first thing that caught my eye was the recessed barrel crown - really nicely done. And the bluing is just beautiful. The laminate stock adds some heft to the rifle, but I wouldn't call it heavy. I'd call it "just right." It's nicely checkered too. The monte carlo profile on the stock gets your eye up where it needs to be for a scope, and the rifle as a whole just works. It's a beaut. It's an accurate little sucker too. The Accutrigger's been beat to death in reviews, so I'm not going to say much about it. Other than it's way sweet and provides a nice contribution to accuracy. When I was sighting in the scope at 25 yards a fly landed on my target. This little Savage erased him - if that tells you anything about its accuracy. One thing I couldn't find any mention of prior to purchase was whether or not the barrel is free-floated. That's the first thing I checked when I took it out of the box, and it is indeed a free-floated barrel. And that also makes its contribution to accuracy. Yup. This was my first Savage. It won't be my last. Seems you get a lot of gun for the money with Savage.

Bought this from Buds about a month ago. I wait until I shoot a firearm before I give a quick review. Was happy with Bud's service (again). Item was shipped about 4 days after ordering, and was notified via email at each step of the process. 5 stars for Buds. For the firearm, another 5 stars. Very nice looking .22. Since it only comes with a 5 rd. magazine, I would advise to get a couple 10 round magazines that can be found at Buds also. They were shipped separately, and arrived in two days. I was at the indoor range, so I was only able to sight in at 20 yards. My best 5 round group had all holes touching, with a couple that looked like they went thru the same hole. Rifle comes with bases. Very satisfied customer.

First time out with this rifle: 144 rounds of various ammo. No malfunctions. Bushnell 4x32 scope. 1/2 group at 50 yards with Wolf Match Extra. My group wasn't from a bench-I was prone on ground with bag up front and shoulder in rear. Looking forward to seeing what it can do with proper rests. It can outshoot me. All this and I haven't touched the trigger or done any mods, just added the scope, sighted it in and took it out. I love it! Thinking about buying another Savage!

Just picked up my MKII BV from my FFL and I'm very impressed. Fit and finish is top notch, nice and smooth action, locks up tight. Nothing tops the Savage MKII in this price class.
